SOURCE: hoover powermax s3530 spitting out dust

recently had same issue with friends. remove the filter and see the other thin filter there that goes to your motor compartment.. remove that and clean it. also check inside your tubes make sure not partially clogged.

SOURCE: My wind tunnel had a lot of dog hair at the intake

I have an upright Dyson Cyclonic.  Because I have dogs, I also have a Miele Pull-along.  I use the cyclonic for fine dust after picking up the hairs with the Miele.

Much quicker in the long run.

Otherwise I would waste a lot of time cleaning out the Dysan Cyclonic airways.  I usually use long nose pliers to get the ball out and then I use my Miele to **** the rest out of the Dysans airways!!!

SOURCE: my vacum will not pick up, it is spitting the dirt

HelloHello Leslie,

First, check that the bag is not full, which would seriously restrict air flow.

Second, while the front cover is removed, check that the seal is not damaged or missing.

Third, remove the bag and disconnect the lower end of the convoluted plastic suction pipe from the the base of the machine (as for using the manual brush or tube) and check for any blockage or restriction to air flow; also check for similar blockage in the passage from the brush cavity to the pipe connection. Unblock as necessary.

Four, refit the bag and front cover, switch on the machine and check for suction at the bottom end of the pipe.

Five, if there is suction, reconnect the pipe to the base and check that the machine is functioning correctly. Make sure the brush roller is rotating and does not stop on contact with the carpet; if so, replace the drive belt.

I hope this is helpful.

Kind regards,

Jon Glenny.

Vacuum is not picking up dirt, dog hair, and lint! After 30 minutes use and I shut off machine it will not turn back on - machine is hot!

Blocked hose, filters, broken belt (If fitted) safety over temp device has operated turning the machine off. If it turns back on when it cools down, that gives you the answer. The motor could possibly be faulty as well.

The beater bar is making a loud noise, and the dog hair is wrapping around the bar. Why would that be happening?

You probably have dirt or garbage wrapped around your beater bar. Loose carpet strings as well as pet hair will do this. If you see dog hair on the carpet its best to pick it up with your fingers as it will make a mess of a vac. Check your drive belt as it could be on its last legs as well causing the loud noise. Probably should be taken apart and belt replaced and a good cleaning as well. You should give a good cleaning once a year.

Pet hair stuck in plastic top of tough stain brush tool

On some of those, the clear cover snaps off. If it wont, then use a pipe cleaner to reach those spots after you let it soak for a while in warm soapy water.

I have a Eureka Whirlwnd bagless upright vacuum. It can pick up the dog hair but does not pick up the dirt anymore. What can I do?

Check the hose and dirt inlet by the brush roll for a clog. Also check your brush roll, do the ends turn freely, if not replace it, you may need a new belt, it may not be turning the brush roll under load. They stretch after awhile and will slip.

Vaccuum issue

If the dirt being vacuumed is not going into the dirt cup, then it must be just stuck in the hose and evenually will clog up. Check the hose and see it there is a clog in it, otherwise you have a years warranty on a new vacuum, take it into a warranty shop and have it checked out, take proof of purchase with you.
