How long should a kindle fire hd be charged

If you use the charger that came with your kindle fire, you can rest knowing that it will not overcharge by leaving it plugged in too long. Usually 4 to 6 hours should fully charge it though.

My kindle will not charge?

The Kindle Fire HD, if completely discharged, may take several hours to begin to accept a charge again. Simply leave it plugged in long enough and the on-board system will sort it out.

My kindle 7HD worked for a couple of weeks, but now it won't charge or turn on. what do I do?

You probably broke the USB connector that is used to charge your kindle.
You could take it to a repair shop and see if it can be replaced.

Why does this unit not take a full charge and indicates low battery and shuts down when you attemot to record in hd ?

The battery in it is going bad, or not charging due to oxidized contacts or faulty wiring. When it goes into HD mode, it requires a full voltage, and at least one cell may not be holding charge. You'll have to replace the battery, most likely, unless the charger or charger wire is bad.
