It most likely has the capability to tune analog stations in as well. To get to a digital station you should just have to punch the numbers in on the remote IE: 5-1 or 5.1

SOURCE: How do I switch my TV from analog to digital? And

If you have a cable box then you don't do the switch in the tv, you do it in the box. If the box isn't a digital model then you must replace it.
BTW the digital channels operate on the same frequencies as the normal ones, to find them just do a channel scan.

Analog to digital

If this is an older standard tv it is analog only it's not capable of processing digital tv transmissions in any way by itself you will need a digital tv converter box. thats true for antenna reception or cable systems that supply a digital signal, with digital cable systems you will probably need their digital converter box over the air & digital cable converters are not compatable with each other.

Need want to use tv with antenna indoor and what remote would i need

You would first need to plug the antenna into a digital box to change the analog signal to a digital signal, then run the cable out of the digital box to the back of your TV; you should then be able to use the TV's remote (unless of course the digital box comes with its own remote).

Using the television's remote control, enter the user's menu. Search for video input and change from cable to antenna. If still experiencing difficulty, visit the JVC website and download the owner's manual to learn the procedure of changing the video input type and deactivate the television's digital decoder.

Indoor antenna won't work on my cable ready set

You do have to make sure to switch the settings to an external antenna. You also will have to check that you have what is an analog signal available to you. If you antenna is analog it will only get analog broadcast. You may also need to switch to a digital tv antenna, The other thing is the range of you antenna. Most indoors, in a congested area will only pull in signal from about 20 to 25 miles out.

Cable in my area has switched to digital cable. I own a Hitachi HDTV about four years old. When I scan my channels it will only scan analog channels...the digital channels are an option but I don't...

Unfortunately, you need a set-top box. The Hitachi 65F59 has an ATSC (digital OTA) and NTSC (analog) tuner. It doesn't have a clear-QAM (unencrypted digital cable) tuner.

There are a few DVR set-top boxes with QAM tuners that you can buy separately. (You will need to make sure a given model is compatible with your service. FIOS uses a different option on the Cable Card than other providers.) Alternatively, you can get a cable box from your company.

Retrevo has the manual for this Hitachi TV here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Hitachi-65F59-TVs-manual/id/371ci977/t/2/ . You will need to enter a code to access the PDF.

If you want OTA HD, you will need to determine the correct antenna for your area and the direction to the transmitters. (External antennas pick up more stations. In some areas amplification may be needed to get a good signal.) See antennaweb.org or tvfool.com for searches on the appropriate antenna to get a signal and where to point the antenna. Antennaweb assumes an external antenna but is very conservative in the received channel list. You would need to set the TV signal input to Air and rescan for channels if you choose to go with the OTA signal.

I wish that I had better news for you.

Hello, I am currently having a problem with my Audiosonic KM0767 Standard Definition Set Top Box. When we first bought it we wired up all the plugs and it worked great. We then moved onto Foxtel...

did you switch the TV's incoming signal to digital antenna? For the cable box it was probably set to cable antenna or analog inputs, not all TV's have automatic switching for antenna feeds. My Mitsubishi has 1 digital and 1 analog antenna input and the cable box will only work through the antenna input if it's the analog antenna input and it's tuned to channel 3 or 4, -(or through a seprate HDMI, PROSCAN, SVCR,or a yellow RCA plug input)- and when the analog antenna input is selected the TV will tune all analog cable channels that the cable service offers if a box is not used. likewise the TV will not tune any channels at all if it's set to digital antenna inputs. It will tune all local channels only when set to digital antenna inputs.

Have a problem

Currently, your switch box likely has several inputs, which as you said are occupied by your DVD Player, XBOX, and your television source. The output of the switch is then fed to your TV.

What you will need to do is insert the DTV converter box BEFORE the switch box. If you have an analog antenna on your TV (rabbit ears) you will need to put the converter box between your antenna and the switch box (the cables, not the box itself) so that your wiring goes like this:

Antenna ---- converter box ---- Switch box
XBOX ---------------------------------switch box
DVD -----------------------------------switch box

And the switch box still goes to the TV. However, you do not NEED to use the converter box until February of 2009.
