SOURCE: how to reset the temperature on the danby silhouette wine refrigerator
This happened to me, I found that the cooler would not go below 70 degrees because the cooler had lost its coolant or wouldn't work. I do not know, but as it was under warranty, an appliance repairman came and said that it was worth fixing, so it was replaced with in a week. Normally you would just hole the button in until the desired temperature is selected. Once released the cooler would attempt to set this temperature. If it is not, then I suspect it too is broken. Good luck.

I am having a problem with my wine cooler also.I found the upper evap fan not running. So i opened up the control board and plugged the fan that was not working into one of the other 2 sockets, and the fan worked.so i have a circuit board problem. If you go online to sears parts and repair.put in your model# and search,it will bring up a diagram of most of the parts available. And no it doesnt have to be a GE product.
SOURCE: wine cooler noise
I wrote up a blog entry for a minor modification we made to our Danby wine refrigerator to silence noise from the upper fan:

You can find quieter versions of the fan with the same specs at big computer parts stores (for the PC builders who want quiet computers). The one we got cost less than $20. We also added rubber spacers so that the fan vibration isn't amplified by back panel of the fridge (which otherwise acts like a soundboard). Made a huge difference.
Even with the fix, though, I wouldn't ever recommend the Danby models. Their noisy, and we've had multiple breakdowns in five years. The only authorized repair shop in our area has lousy customer service and high prices.

The compressor needs to be tested to see if it's operational. This normally needs to be done by a service tec.

Make sure it is not located adjacent a heat source or in direct sunlight.
Check to make sure you have set the temperature controls correctly. See page 4 of the manual. Note if the power is interrupted your settings are erased and the cooler will default to the preset temperatures.
if you have power and the temperature settigns are correct ther eis likely an issue with the compressor and it may need to be serviced.
