Question about Epson 9880 stylus pro Printer
Printer was working fine until this week. I'm using Photoshop and InDesign CS6 and trying to print various files, but the printer will only print 1/2 to 3/4 of the job then stop. I've tried deleting all jobs in the print spooler, but this didn't help. I've also tried printing different files, but have the same problem. I'm running Windows 8.
I aint too sure if its the same but i had an epson printer with the same problem last year it would print half a page spit out and then print the same half a page again and just stuck in a loop even on printing disks it did the same i found out after by speaking to a printer specialist it was the printers eeprom which is the printers memory bank that was failing and nothing can be done with it

SOURCE: Printer hangs up.
1. check the printer, make a copy
2. check connectivity, open device manager - USB Printing Support(under Universal Serial Bus Controllers) must be there - swap cable/port if it´s not
3. uninstall, reboot then re install printer driver

SOURCE: New Epson RX595 won't print
Apparently the latest software doesn't work with Leopard 10.5.2. I uninstalled the Epson software and installed the earlier version [driver version 3.88] that come on the Installer CD with the printer. Printing now works.

Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

SOURCE: I have an Epson Stylus
Hi, this maybe happening due to RAM or HDD space, often BIG complex color print jobs take up vast amounts of RAM and HDD space, the PC needs enough to "Spool" the print job, so that it can "Feed" it to the printer in "Chunks" of data. If you do not have sufficient HDD space or enough RAM then what you describe can happen.. so this is indeed worth a check.
