When I push the scan button, nothing happens, accept for the "On light" flashes. I have already reloaded the software. What else could I try?

Same problem. Have any of you found a solution yet? Until now, I thought I was the only one with this problem, same all- in- one printer- scanner( Hp 1410.). Some of you have posted since last December 2007!!

My lexmark prevail pro707 does not compress scanned files, these files become too large to email, how do I set it to compress scanned files please?

On my 901, I can reduce the size of the PDF file by changing the "quality" setting in the scan mode. More specifically, reducing the DPI that it scans at. I also noticed that scanning a document to a wireless network computer, and then scanning the same thing again directly to a flash drive plugged into the printer, results in significant variations of the file size. Perhaps trying different combinations of these things will help you with your problem. Good Luck.

IT WONT COPY OR SCAN

Please try this approach:
  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the printer.
  2. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  3. Close the printer cover.
  4. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - the black box where the power cord is plugged into. Re-plug after 30 seconds.
  5. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges. Close the printer cover.
  6. Load some paper.
  7. Try to scan or make a copy again to verify that the problem is fixed.
I hope this helps.

Im trying to scan a paper to my printer but it wont. i chose it to save to my pc then it shows to choose color or black ink, i choose color and it still wont work. can you please help

Hello, what I would do is:

  1. Visit canons website and download the full driver and software package.
  2. Unplug your printer form your usb port on the back of your computer.
  3. Install the file you just downloaded.
  4. When it asks to plug the printer in plug it in a different usb port it was in before.
  5. Then restart your computer when device is successfully installed.

Hope this helps

Scanner does not work when requested from HP Director

Make sure the cable is plugged all the way in to the printer it gets loose for some reason and have had this problem my self many times. I replaced the US plug and mine went away but test the cable first.you can go to WWW.hp.com and support and read the Trouble bullitins for this printer and you will find a white paper or TSB on this.

Can not reinstall printer

Try disconnecting the printer from the USB port and reinstalling the CD program. Don't connect the printer to the USB port till the program says to do so.

Hope this help. Bud

if there is a message the one seds no connection that is because you are conected to the computer with the serial cable or usb cable but the settings on your computer is for the oposite this means you have to go to start ,printers ,where you can see the name of your printer do a right click with the mouse and click properties go to ports and look for the check mark on the port name on the left square box there is LPT, COM, USB port check on the one your printer is using and that all your computer will be have comunication with your printer
