As always with stereo amps the two channels are identical, so if one goes wrong you have the other as a control for testing purposes. So if you start by looking and comparing the two channels. that's a start! If a part looks odd on the faulty channel, but is fine on the good channel you have found the problem. You can also do tests, such as touching the two channels with an insulated screwdriver, while powered up. If it buzzers on the good channel, it should buzz on the other channel at that point. Keep away from the power supply and ignore anything that is on it's own, that has no duplicate, or is common to both channels.

Problem with Car AmplifiersDual 2/1-Channel 400-Watt Amplifier Red light keeps coming on. I have grounded it more then 1 way to test to see if it was a ground problem but blue light is on when i don't...

If the power light is on when the amp isn't grounded, the amp is the ground. Meaning the chassis is part of the circuit (bad) basically the internal wiring is shorted to the case. Its Chinese junk not worth fixing. Throw it out and buy a quality amp.

I have a turntable with a white and a red male RCA output cable. I am trying to hook it up to a Marathon DJ-1000 amp which has two TRS input channels - Channel 1 and Channel 2. Should I buy a twin female...

If I understand you correctly each channel has a single input in the amp, then yes! white goes into channel 1 and the red plug goes to channel 2 this way your signal will be stronger which translates into louder sound.

Where can I get the codes for PH601S

The link at the bottom is for the PH301S. It may or may not work with your remote.

Below that is a link to some Phillips remote codes that may or may not work.

However there is a way to let the remote search through the codes stored in memory that should work. 1. manually turn on the device you want to program. 2. press and hold the "Code Search" button until the red light stays on then release it. 3. Press the device key that you want to program TV, DVD). The red light should blink off once. 4. Now point and press the "Channel Up" button until the channel changes. The red light will blink with each press and you can back track using the Channel Down" button if you over shoot. 5. Press the "Mute" button once to store the code.

Hope this helps.

Philips universal remote codes

Hi Troysingleto. The code can depend on what model of URC you have. According to a site I found by Googling, the code for Apex TVs on one common URC from Philips is 044. Here are the steps to input it directly:

1. Press and hold the Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

2. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, DVD, etc). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.

3. Enter the 3 digit code (044) . Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.

4. With your device on, press CHANNEL Up. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your equipment, try one of the other codes for your brand.

If that code does not work, you can still find the code using this manual procedure first posted on FixYa by cptnkirk4064:

1. Manually turn on device to be controlled.

2. Press and hold the "Code Search" button until the red indicator light stays on, then release it.

3. Press and quickly release the desired code button (TV, VCR, etc). The red indicator light should blink once.

4.Press the "Channel Up" button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until thedevice to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator light shouldblink off with each button press. If you accidentally overshoot therequired code, press the "Channel Down" button to backtrack through thelibrary until the device changes channel. Pressing "Channel Up" changesdirection again.

5. Press and release "Mute" button to install the code.

If you wish to actually identify the code once this has been done, this is the procedure:

1. Press and hold the "Code Search" button until the red indicator stays on. Release the "Code Search" button.

2. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator light blinks and then stays on.

3. Press and release the "Code Search" button. The red indicator light goes off.

4.To find the first digit for the code stored under the mode key pressedin "Step 2" press each numeric key from 1-9 in turn. When the redindicator light blinks off, the number you pressed is the first digitfor the code you are searching for.

5. To find the second digit, repeat "Step 4," this time when the red indicator light blinks off, this is the second digit in your number.

6. Repeat again for the third digit in your code number.

Once I find out the code for my TV or DVD player, I write it on a small piece of paper (make sure to note which unit code is for!) and tape it to the inside of the lid to the battery compartment for future reference.

Best of luck!
