My receiver is AG-V8525. I've disconnected all speaker wires, checked the internal fuses (4) and finally pushed the reset button (which just shut the power off) and it still flashes protect. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

AG-V 8520 receiver - I have the same problem, it works for a lettle bit then suddenly it stops and the PROTECT starts streaming across the screen. I've checked the wires, they're ok. There are no exterior fuses.

I have the same problem, took off top, there are not any copper wires in where the wires go. I did see 3 fuses. One is on the same board as the speakers and stuff. How can you tell if that is blown? its a sb 2.5a 250v fuse. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated also.

Check the thermal sensor, TH1. This causes the unit to go into protect, it is a common failure part on this model.

Your speaker wires are frayed, touching each other, not properly connected, or not proper ohmage. Check all above and if that's not it take off top and check internal or if you're lucky external fuses.

The amplifier is going into protect mode to prevent damage. Obviously something is wrong and TEAC doesn't want to be bothered with finding and fixing it.

Why does my Teac ag h500 keep saying protect?

Hi. Unfortunately the protection circuit is saving your speakers from a fault, most likely one side of the amplifier in the unit is defective.

This needs an engineer.

How do you reset the blinking protect banner on the ag-v8520?

Try disconnecting the power cord then disconnect the speakers. Plug the power cord back in then hold in the power button until the unit "clicks." Then disconnect the power cord and reconnect the speakers, then the power cord and turn it back on.

Protect

You may have shorted the speaker wires. Remove all wires from the output connections and make doubly sure no strands are left there. Turn volume to zero and turn the receiver on. If the problem persists, you probably fried the output stage. Have it repaired.
