HI I HAVE TEAC G-V8520. WHEN I TURN IT ON, IT SAY WELCOME AND THEM PROTECT. WHAT CAN I DO.
Check the thermal sensor, TH1. This causes the unit to go into protect, it is a common failure part on this model.

what does it look like on the TEAC AG-V8525

Your speaker wires are frayed, touching each other, not properly connected, or not proper ohmage. Check all above and if that's not it take off top and check internal or if you're lucky external fuses.

I HAVE TEAC AG-V8520. WHEN I TURN IT ON, IT SAY WELCOME AND THEM PROTECT.
I have this problem and it is offset on one channel where do I get a FREE copy of the technical schamatic? I am a component level tech.
"protect" shows up on display after a few minutes
i have the same problem. no speakers even connected right now and it still says.PROTECT.
My receiver is AG-V8525. I've disconnected all speaker wires, checked the internal fuses (4) and finally pushed the reset button (which just shut the power off) and it still flashes protect. Can anyone offer any suggestions?
AG-V 8520 receiver - I have the same problem, it works for a lettle bit then suddenly it stops and the PROTECT starts streaming across the screen. I've checked the wires, they're ok. There are no exterior fuses.
I have the same problem, took off top, there are not any copper wires in where the wires go. I did see 3 fuses. One is on the same board as the speakers and stuff. How can you tell if that is blown? its a sb 2.5a 250v fuse. Any other ideas would be greatly appreciated also.
