I have a lexmark x1240 all in one and i refilled the cartridge that came with the printer it is the first time that it has been refilled and i put it back in
and tried to print and it only prints blank pages
Hello everybody. Try this :
Go to the printer properties by right clicking the default printer icon on Printer & Faxes in the Control Panel.
Go to Advanced Options and select the option that reads "Print Directly to the Printer."
It worked for me :p . the printer was not printing from Word and other programs but was printing test pages ok and the ink cartridges are new.

How fast did you refill it! Could be air bubbles. Place cartrige print head on a damp towel, see if ink comes out...leave to weep for a few minutes, then reinstall.
if you are using a generic ink, could be the wrong type of ink. Many printers now, use pigmented ink. Generic is dye based (old style)

try turning off the printer then reboot the PC, then turn on the printer if this doesn't work try the software may not be installed properly. Try the following:
1 Right-click the My computer icon.
For Windows XP, click Start to access the My computer icon.
2 Click Properties.
3 For Windows 98 or Windows Me, click the Device Manager tab.
For Windows 2000 or Windows XP, select the Hardware tab, and then click
the Device Manager button.
4 Look for the Other Devices category. If there are any Lexmark devices
shown here, highlight them and, then press the Delete key.
Note: The Other Devices category appears only when unknown devices
are present. Do not delete any Lexmark items unless they are
present under the Other Devices category.
5 Insert the CD, and install the software again. Do not restart the computer.

Tips for a great answer:
Dec 01, 2011 | Lexmark X1240 All-In-One InkJet Printer
1. Look at the indicator light on your Lexmark printer.
You'll need to replace ink cartridges when the light flashes or turns red
instead of the standard green.
2. Purchase Lexmark ink cartridges. You can buy the brand
name or purchase a generic version that is compatible with your printer. You
can shop for low cost ink cartridges from ABC Ink.
3. Remove the old cartridges from your printer. Grip the
sides of the Lexmark ink cartridges and pull it out. Dispose of the ink
cartridges in a recycle program like the one at Staples or save the cartridges
4. Install the new ink cartridges after removing the
protective tabs. Avoid touching the IC chip when installing the new Lexmark ink
cartridges. Replace the cover of the printer.
5. Allow the Lexmark printer to run a nozzle test. Print
several pages with the new ink cartridges to make sure you installed the ink
cartridges correctly. The indicator light should return to a solid green color.
do rate the solution if it helps
