Mitsubishi VS50705 i have the same problem (powers up, slight soft click-on sound, no picture or sound, timer light on) i looked at all the capacitors and they seem to be normal. i had a repairman out and he said that it couldn't be repaired because the power board was bad. he said the three tubes were getting power and was able to get the screen to light up with colors. all i want is some technician who will look into the component problem and repair it.

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..
Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..
1. Open the back cover of your TV. 2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord.. 3.
After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is
bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors.. 4.
After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and
soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings
and value.. 5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter
The capacitors on the DM board need replacement, thats a common problem it will work fine but if power is loss even for a minute the capacitor drain, then they cant recharge since they need replacement so the set will just keep blinking the timer light. Installing the V26 DM repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually repair that. The kit contains the Replacement caps and the CD with detailed instructions.
How many times does the LED blink? Does it blink 6 times, pauses, and repeats? Or is it some other number of blinks? Or does it just blink continuously, once a second? (Note: on Mitsubishi's it is normal for the TV to blink rapidly for about 90 seconds after you plug the TV in, while the TV runs internal self-tests.) If the LED continues to blink continuously after 90 seconds, then the problem is on the DM board. There are 4 electrolytic capacitors, grouped together. I believe they are either 820 uF (mfd - microfarads) or 1000 uF at 16 Volts. If you check them, you will see that their tops are swollen (slightly rounded; not flat across). They will check okay with a capacitance meter or ESR meter, but don't believe your meter! Replace those 4 capacitors with either 820 or 1000 uF capacitors rated at either 16 or 25 volts. Make sure you use good, high-temperature (105 deg C) low-ESR capacitors. I recommend the "FM Series" capacitors from Digi-Key corporation, part number P12366-ND or P12379-ND. Less than $1.00 apiece. Good luck!
After changing a defective capacitor, my TV still would not power up. After using a solution I found on this site, I held the power and volume up button down on the TV itself for several seconds, the TV powered up normally. I did notice that you had to do this while the timer light was flashing. Doing so after it went out was not effective. I initially only replaced one capacitor which was noticeably defective, and the flashing green timer light eventually returned. I will be replacing all 7 capacitors and resetting the TV. As mentioned above, the capacitors may look good but in fact may be defective. These are high temp caps which breakdown under a load but function normally when cold. Several people have mentioned replacing the capacitors didn't fix the problem. It appears that you must replace and reset using this method to repair some of these TVs.
after holding down the menu and device the led will blink a two digit error code such as 3 blinks pause then 4 blinks then repeat that sequence a couple of times. Need that blink code to help let you know whats going on. The 34 code means lamp abnormality which translates to the power Pwb capacitors have most likely failed.
Sounds like the Capacitors on the PWB PCB You can get a repair Kit to fix that its called V26 PWB PCB kit at the following link. It contains the different capacitors and a CD with the info on the repair. Heres the link. http://servicemanuals.vstore.ca/
You could have a problem in the sweep or main power supply, Bad capacitors on the DM module, they will be all grouped together and have swollen tops, Coolent fluid leaking out of one of the CRT's. If you have no electronic or solid state repair experience, please get a pro to assist you in this repair. Good Luck
