GE Monogram Convection oven ZET837SB1SS

Greetings, my coil went out.  This coil is the convection coil.  Easy job....I thought.  New coil in, now the oven will only heat with door open.  Close door and the coil shuts down.  I also replace the switch in the left door hinge.  Please help.....dinners are not cooking well with door open.  John

I would suspect a couple of wires are crossed.

GE puts mini-manuals in their units, which have wiring diagrams, schematics, etc. Very handy.

It will be folded up in a small envelope, usually behind the control panel or hidden elsewhere. That should help you.

It sounds like you may have a shorted cook relay on the control circuit board which can be repaired simply and inexpensively.

A YouTube video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes, is here.

My husband heated up something in the microwave and when he took his food out he bumped the latch and broke it and then shut the door. Now we can't even get it open. How do I open the door so I can see...

You would need a new "door latch". It's a pretty easy do it yourself job.

You can look it up and find helpful exploded views by entering model number (as FMT118E1W0) at the Pros' site here.

You have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo).

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) that demonstrates how it's done.

When i open my door i have to hold it from slamming open

That would be a broken door spring, and it's best to replace them in pairs.

On some models, this can be a difficult job.

You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

Good luck.

Microwave not heating

You need to replace the whole door latch with an original part.

If it is working but not heating, then test the high voltage capacitor, the rectifier diode.or the magnetron. If all this are fine, test the control board. If turntable is not running check also the door switch.

Remember that microwaves are potentially dangerous devices if not repaired properly, the job must be done by a competent person.
A microwave energy leakage test must always be performed when the oven is serviced for any reason.

Regarding parts, contact the seller here to purchase parts.

You can also order from MicrowaveSvc , they also provide parts.

How do I remove the door from our Sharp R-1874 microwave

Fixed the problem without any help from anyone. If you ask and ask and get no help I guess it is time to take on the problem and see if you can resolve it and I did. NO IT WAS NOT EASY but with a little thought and time over the last 2 days I did get the door changed. Thanks for letting me post even though I got NO help.

Dacor Microwave dcm24s

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside.

This can be caused by slamming the door or by habitually opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

If you or a friend decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

Wont heat items in the micro or convection

MODEL NUMBER NEEDED

Apparently this is not actually an R-510HK since that model does not have convection mode. Can you reply back with the correct model number? We may have the service manual for you.

A PRELIMINARY OPINION

It sounds like you have loose door switch mounts or possibly loose door hinges.

If the door won't open via the door open button, then the outer cover will have to be removed.

BEFORE YOU RATE THIS

This is a preliminary post, asking for further information (model). Please withhold your rating until we actually offer the solution.
