Question about Fuji FinePix Cameras
Bateries were low haven't been concerned with date and time till now and I have tried to set it as the way I understand it in book but it wants to flip other displays with I push left or right or up or down, Tried taking batteries out and card and waiting for long time and starting over but had no luck It shows the old time and date in the right corner real small in red and white highlighted in white but flips off when I press selector right or left that's about all I know now thanks for any help you can offer

The flashing F-- is addressed on page 123 of your users manual. My camera was also doing that and it was very frustrating. The lens is not being read by the camera. Try cleaning the contacts in the lens and camera body. In my case I had dropped my camera from a very short distance, but it was enough to make the lens not seat right in the body. Have to buy a new lens. Go to a camera shop and switch out the lens and see if it works...mine did. Problem solved.

SOURCE: I have a Canon Powershot A560. The date and time
Think your problem is that you are looking in the wrong spot. Don't know why your manual is telling you to look there (are you sure your manual is for the A560)?
Your CR1220 date/time battery is located in the regular battery compartment. Look right beside your AA batteries. You'll see a little flap labeled "CR1220". Slide this open with your fingernail, and take the little coin battery down to your local drugstore to buy a replacement.
