I keep hearing a thud coming from my front end on my 1993 ford f150 The truck has automatic locking hubs on the front and I have a feeling that noise is coming from them Passengers side What could be the...

One of the better bargains in car service are front-end alignments. IF you go to a reputable place they will inspect the front end components before doing an alignment. The really good shops will have a separate repair area for time consuming repairs so the alignment rack can be kept on schedule for the next alignment.

Some shops will diagnose and send away vehicles which they need repaired before doing an alignment and other places will perform an alignment and tell you what needs to be fixed if the bad component does not affect the alignment they are doing.

It would help if you first discussed fees if they can not finish the alignment. People do have to be paid and shops can not stay in business if several vehicles come in each day without paying.

Now tie-rod ends can produce a good thud as well as ball-joints. The hubs you mentioned can do this too. Worn calipers can thud rocking on their slide-pins. Hope this helps.

Not sure if i need an alignment or just tie rod ends replaced..steering wheel shakes and goes off to one side, how do i know if i need an aligment as well when i take the car in for service?

You need to find an alignment shop, that
does nothing else

No chain store or mall repair place or franchise

They will replace all worn parts FIRST & fix ALL
you issues THEN Align the vehicle

Your not going in for any service

You go for a ride at the alignment shop
They will explain things if you don't leave yourself open
to seeming uneducated

Take a note pad & pretend to take notes & ask questions

Take a tour of the inside of the shop & get a feel for the place
& the owner, take charge & use Google & You Tube Video
to prepare yourself & brush up on the problems

Hello i have no standard regarding Alignment out so please help me .

You only go to an alignment only shop
Not a chain store repair place

You only have a 4 wheel alignment done

They need to check all suspension for
wear, etc and check ride height first.

Your car only wants to go where your back wheels are pointed

So you need to reference all four & the latest equipment
is alway nice if you get lucky where you go

Pll broken

If the PLL is dead, it's almost not worth saving. Even if you get a replacement PLL and change it, the radio will not work right without an alignment. To align the radio you will need the factory alignment guide, watt meter, volt meter and an oscilloscope and a basic knowledge of electronics.

Not keying up after chanel34 when if it is on high tone and neddel is not going to 30db on usb or lsb it is cobra 148gtl dx

It sounds like the radio may need to be fully aligned. Sounds like its not adjusted to transmit properly in the correct frequency range.

has any one attempted to broadband this radio? if so it could have been done wrong.

I could tell you the alignment procedure but you would need a watt meter, oscilloscope, and a volt meter.

As well its an in depth procedure. So some electronic experience is necessary.

Please let me know if you have the equipment to do the alignment and I will get you the info. If not you best bet is to take it to a radio shop, or send it to a repair shop. If you are going to send it I recommend http://www.sparkyscbshack.com/Home.html

My front suspension make loud noises

Not good, you may need at least tie rod ends. Best take it to an alignment place. If you have some tools and can check the tie rod ends for excess play they can be changed with moderate effort. But you need to check struts and ball joints and will need special tools. Some autoparts lend the tools for this repair. But it still should be aligned afterwards. You will take longer doing this yourself than a repair shop.
