As Dyllan said we would need more info, including the exact error message and the names of the programs that cannot load. it would also be useful to know if you are running XP or vista as they sync differently
You could try downloading the latest version of ActiveSync from Microsoft, deleting the partner ship with the device and trying again.
Can you give me the exact text of the error message?
I'll need a bit more information before I can be of much help, I'm afraid. But if you can answer those questions, I'm sure we can find a way to fix the problem.

It's not the cradle that's the problem. The problem is internal... a short in the **** poor wiring creating a short circuit. The internal wires need to be re-soldered. Dell ditched the PDA line because it could not support it's JUNK. These PDAs were designed to break.
give me some more information as to what exactly occurs. Your battery
may be dead. i could be just uncharged. It could be an AXim problem. Be
more specific so i can try to help you.
Note: The following is a quote of someone else: I had the same prob. Went to dell site and found this. Take out
battery. Put the cover back on. Attach to cradle and turn on. While it
is on, do a soft reset. Turn off, take it out of the cradle and put
battery back on. Try turning on with battery only.
Know it worked for me except for the last part. when i replace the battery it won't run on...again. tell me what happens with you ^_^
Take out battery, put cover back on. Plug to cradle and turn on. Then do soft reset while on the cradle working. After, turn off , remove from cradle and install battery. Turn on with battery only.
Windows mobile does come wth a task manager it's in the settings window under system > memory > running programs. However, this is not a process manager, but Airscanner mobile antivirus pro comes with a good process manager built in as well as a good lot of other stuff as well.
Did you try a soft reset of the device to get rid of it?
You should be ok running any software designed for the ARM processor.
