Call your local Wal Mart Stores..... even if you have to call 2 or 3 stores..... after several attempts to call the customer support phone number (what a joke) I did not want to waste my time on hold.

I decided to call all of the local Wal Mart Stores in my ares.and I found the filters for the 12 cup digital coffee maker model number 169164.......... (they come in a pack of 2) at the Wal Mart store in West York PA.....

I may end up purchasing 2 packs.........

I hope this email with help you with your search.............Good luck. They are out there, it just takes alittle searching and with no thanks to our wonderful GE help line.

A couple of people on here mentioned he filtration system, or charcoal filter that is in the
water resovoir as being problematic. We removed it. This morning the pot brewed entirely.
Not sure how that all is inter-connected, but it worked.

I believe is need a new gasket for where the filter cup meets the espresso maker. I am not getting the same pressure when making coffee. It is a Krups 871 model

Hi,
I have a #872 model. It is very similar to the #871.
Where the gasket is there is a small metal filter too, attached by a screw.
UNPLUG your coffemaker!!!
If you unscrew the filter and remove it with the gasket most likely you are going to find the other side of it clogged by coffee. Wash it off and wash the gasket well too with dishwashing soap. Rinse them off well.
You should try to clean off the coffemaker part to where the gasket lays. Usually it is full of burnt of coffee.
If there is no other problem with your coffemaker this should solve your problem.

GE 169164 coffee maker problem

*** HOW TO RESET THE GE 169164 COFFEE MAKER ***

After endless online searches yielding the same results (nothing useful), I figured out how to reset this coffee maker.

While coffee maker is plugged in and the evil little blue light is mocking you relentlessly, press and hold the 1-4 button and the TSB button simultaneously for 3 seconds or so. This will cause the device to exit it's error status and allow normal use of it.
