Computer works only when plugged in to mains and battery indicator flashes orange all the time - guess computer around 12 months old only - seems battery dead or is there a reset? Not much of a portable device mains only eh!

I had the same problem, 13 months from purchase. so i just bought a double capacity battery on eBay, works fine now. The original battery doesnt work due to charge cycle life time. approx 400 full charges i believe, then the batt is knackered. best thing to do is buy another battery...

Advent 4211c battery flashing orange

The MSI (manufacturer of this product) website has very poor product support - the only download is a BIOS upgrade for MSI-labeled units only. I could not find a user's manual to download, so I will give you a generic answer based on customary practice:
If the charge light is flashing orange, when previously it was green during charging, then the computer has detected a fault in the battery.

Advent 4211-C won't power up on AC or battery. The only sign of life is the battery charging light which displays green continuously when the computer is plugged in to the mains... apart from...

You may have already tried this... Please remove the battery to see if the machine responds to pluged in power by itself. Press the power button for about 30 seconds befor pluging in the power... this is usually the way to reset the laptop. A defective battery can keep the machine from working.
If there is no response, the motherboard may have been damaged or a solder gotten loose, either way, it would need to be taken apart to verify and the solution could be expensive.

unplug your battery when your pc is on AC power.and then plug in the battery quickly.do this until your problem eliminated. And one advice.do not use battery power upto it's last energy.Use it efficiently.and do not wait for critical alarm.it will reduce your battery life.

I cant use my advent 4211 pc notebooke without the charger

I would suggest that your notebook is probably in need of a new battery perhaps??

The standard battery is 2200 mAh, and I know you can buy higher capacity 5200mAh batteries. Since the notebook is a fairly recent one, the battery SHOULD still be OK. However, if the notebook doesn't boot up unless it is plugged in the mains, then I would think the battery is the place to look at.

Dell latitude D600 battery charge light flashing

That usually indicates battery is beginning to go bad. Eventually it will not hold a charge and will need to be replaced.

Flashing green and orange battery light on body of laptop

The flashing orange light indicates that the battery isn't working properly. This could be due to either the battery being worn out, or a battery fail safe has kicked in. Either way the battery will need to be replaced in order to fix this. Since the performance isn't quite right, I'm going to say that a fail safe has engaged, you can confirm this by running the computer without the battery and see how the performance is. You will need to replace the battery, and the replacement will make the machine work properly.
