Hello there! When you close the door the light goes out anyway. Food does not need to be in light to remain fresh as you probably already know. If the light is not working because the fridge is not getting power, the breaker is tripped or the fuse is blown, then fix those problems, your food may spoil. A bulb is easy to change and only costs a couple of bucks. It is just like changing any other light bulb. Good luck xoxo
SOURCE: All of the lights have gone out on the fridge
More than likely the bulbs all did not go out at the same time. There is a door switch that turns the lights on and off. More than likely this switch is faulty.

Okay if the problem is not to do with the bulb, why is the food freezing in the fridge?
