I recently got a 60 inch Sony KDF-E60A20 from a friend for around. ... runs for about 1 minutes then goes black(no picture no sounds), then the picture and sound come right back on for another minutes then off for 30 seconds.
Replace lamp in tv because symptom shows lamp is near to end of its working hours life and causing that problem. If lamp has not been replaced in tv in last 2-3 years, its time to replace it to solve the issue. Lamp replacement procedure is easy and written in user manual. Thanks.
Hi, Symptom shows its Lamp Replacement time in KDF-E60A20 TV If you have not replaced TV Lamp yet then change it. Lamp is available in Part Store and lamp procedure is written in User Manual.
lamp is monitored by an over-current protect circuit. When the lamp starts drawing a little more current than normal, the set starts shutting off the video and audio then in a couple minutes restrike the lamp. Unique to sony WEGA's, replace w/ new type xl-2200u, you should be o.k.
try cleaning the bulb dust build up will over heat the assembly and shut the picture and sound off mine did the same thing and now it works great like new just follow the manual on taking the bulb out use air in a can too clean it
