Your disc is dead. You need to buy a new one for that game.

HI, you will need to preform a lens cleansing by using a cleaning disc. try to recover lens function be cleaning the lens with a good len cleaning disc. if the lens cleaner dose not fix this issue, this will confirm optical lens assembly failure and, you will need to replace the lens assembly in this case.

Just to make sure that this isn't a control fault, unplug the PS2 for 5 minutes. if the unit still freezes up or , the unit will not play the disc, replace the optical lens assembly.

USE A DISC CLEANER DISC AND TRY OPENENING UR PS2 AND BLOWING IT OUT

You are covered by a 12 month warranty from Sony it sounds like the laser is not reading the discs but check to see if the auto start feature is turned on in the settings menu as then the game will automatically start when the disc is inserted

my playstation wont play ps3 games but it will play movies and ps2 games.if i put a ps3 game in it frezzes...

I'm also having this problem as well, it has to do with the OS and it is corrupted. It seems like the "Game mode" has been corrupted preventing us from playing games on the hard drive or reading games.

whenever your kids playstation does not play a disc just in the front side of the game where you slot the disc there are some buttons there carefully check for the one with the green button and blue button.press the blue button and you have just reseted the game
Another option to this is make sure the disc isnt dirty or damp.
If it is use a clean soft cloth to clean the disc and insert it again.
Finally you could just switch it on/off from behind the game.

You should try to get a ps2 disk cleaner and a cleaner for your system.

Replace the lens with a new one.
