If you ever lose your settings or if your settings are changed and the router is not functioning properly, you can come to this area to restore your saved settings from the backup file you created. Click Browse to locate the backup settings file you previously created. When you have located it, click Restore and the settings saved within this file will be applied to the router. If you did not create a backup file, you may need to restore the factory default settings.
device3.gif Factory Settings If you ever want to erase all personal settings of your router, come to this area and click Reload to restore the factory default settings. All the current settings will be lost. If you change the router's configuration and it stops functioning properly you can reload the factory settings to fix it.
device3.gif The other method to restore the factory default settings is to press in and hold the RESET button on the Wireless MAXg Router for between five and ten seconds. You will lose all of your personal settings if you restore the factory default settings. You might need to do this if you are unable to access the Web User Interface or have forgotten your password.

I cant open my WIRELESS ROUTER |WL-520G - RT (WL520GC) on my browser; if i open the default gateway the isp modem settings pops out not my asus router seting... pls hep

Hi!
I tried to figure out some explanation, and I think it's possible that both WAN side of the router and LAN side of it have same types od ip adresses, maybe the default 192.168.1.***. That means that the WAN port of the Router, the ethernet port of the modem, the wireless and LAN ports of the router have same tuype of adresses, maybe all asigned by DHCP.
To be sure, I suggest you to:
1. turn of the modem
2. check that the network connection obtains ip adress automatically
3. in a dos prompt (START - RUN -CMD) type IPCONFIG, it will return among other infos the adress of the default gateway.
4. now type that adress in the browser.
5. if it works, log on to the router and change the LAN settings so that the adresses used in the LAN will be different from the WAN, let's say 10.10.10.1 and so on

I want the ip to access my router so i can change the default name n put security

You can locate your router's adress with this easy trip:
Hit start - run - cmd. At the new black window that will appear type "ipconfig" without the quotes and hit enter. The system will reply with the the details for IP Adress, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway. The ip adress for Default Getaway is your router's ip adress. This photo may help you:

D-Link 2100 AP is working in Wireless Client mode. It is connected to home network with cat5 cable. The remote ADSL modem is 192.168.1.1 and DHCP on. The first computer in the network obtains IP and...

Check in your router to see if your router is set up to be a DHCP Server. If your router and adsl are both set up to be DHCP servers, sometimes they will fight with each other and some computers seem to have problems getting adresses from this kind of setup. Make sure that only one is set up to give out adresses, then check on your second computer to make sure that it is set to obtain adress automaticaly. If someone has set a manual adress in that computer that is not on the same subnet as the router, they will not comunicate. If this does not solve your problem, try putting in manual adresses into both computers: IE 192.168.1.2, subnet mask 255.255.255.0, Default gateway 192.168.1.1 in the first, and 192.168.1.3 in the second with the same subnet and default gateway,
