My oven (Whirlpool mod#GY396LXPB00) will not bake, I think it's a control panel problem but I'm not sure. The bake button does nothing! The custom broil and self clean cycle both function. The door locks when you activate the self clean and works properly. It started acting up the other day, my wife tried to bake something and couldn't adjust the temp., when you push the bake button it starts at 350 automatically and then you adjust from there, well it would not adjust, the up and down keys didn't funtion. So we used the oven at 350 and then it wouldn't shut off, the off button didn't function, I had to go open the breaker to shut the oven off. When I reset the breaker (allowed time to cool) I had my current problem, no bake funtion at all. Any input or advice would be appreciated! THANKS
secondary question: do both the top and bottom elements function on a self cleaning cycle? I let it run for about 5-10 min and only my top element worked.
Usually, when an oven won't bake, it's because the bake element is burned out. The bake element is the black, pencil- thick tube at the bottom of the oven. When the oven heats, the element glows red. This element has an expected life-span of several years. It may last for only one; it may last for many more. When the element burns out, you need to replace it.

I having the same problem, I cleaned my oven and now it sounds and looks like it is heating up according to the digital display, but nothing heats up the broiler nor the oven. Has there been a recall on this model from Whirpool?
I am having the same problem 5 days from Christmas cleaned the oven and now neither the broiler or the oven heat up.
