Error loading operating system on my sony vaio laptop

We reformatted the laptop with hte recovery cd. windows home edition appeared already. thought it was ok. then we installed the netgear pc card but it would not connect to the wireless router. it just said connected to the dial-up. we decided to reformat again with the cd but we cancelled in the middle of the process. then error loading operating system appeared. what should we do? my vaio model is pcg-9b5l

You will have to reload OS from startup. System may say OS already exists but you should have th option to continue. Netgear has a problem with their pc card. Recommend you buy another brand like Linksys...

Strivinz : 'M' button became '0' whih means Numeric ON. (numeric : 0123456789) turn it off by pressing FN+Num lock.
And for your Operating system...Try using Vista Ultimate (works for my vaio vgn-s270b) or Windows 7 Ultimate (motion eye application might not appear > but you still can access the camera via devices and printers Section.

If what you mean is you want to reformat your laptop, you can do so as long as you know the steps, and you have a CD for the operating system you want. If you have the windows CD installer, you can boot from the CD and follow the instructions so you can reformat your laptop.

I wanna reformat my Sony Vaio- VGC-RB52 but couln't go to BIOS set up..Do i need bootable CD? I don't have it too. Also, How can i get an OS windows XP media center? thanks..

1. Yes the CD needs to be bootable to automatically format your computer and run the windows set up.

2. You can purchase a license windows XP from microsoft.

Error loading operaiting system

if you get that error, then the operating system is corrupted..

restart the computer
when you see the VAIO logo on the screen, start pressing F10 key on top of the keyboard for 5-7 secs until you see windows is loading files or edit boot options
if you see edit boot option, press enter
it will load vaio recovery center
from vaio reocvery center, select restore c: drive on the left side. (it will format the hdd. make sure to back up your files first before starting the recovery)

Sony vaio VGN FS 742W notebook Startup problem.When swithed ON,Vaio,Window XP screen appears and then window 'isass' appears & notebook swithes OFF automatically.Pl.advise solution for the above....

If Windows appears, and start booting, then the problem concerns the operative system and not the hardware.

That is good news, because all you need to do is using the original computer recovery disk, or finding a Windows setup disk to reinstall Windows.

To reinstall Windows, start the computer with the Recovery Disk or Windows Disk inside and chose Boot from CD when asked, then follow instructions.

nothing happens when you try to use the recovery console right by pressing "r".

try this again and again , sometimes it idles but its still running, if the error appears, restat again.

some corruptions maybe beyond our control and sometimes the only solution for this is to recover the inportant files you have on that HD and do a reformat...
