DTV box hooked up, but doesn't bring in much.

when all connected both colour cables and antenna in and out of the desktop box and TV correctlyand both turned on
almost every DTV box will start its menu automatically
and follow the menu promps
chose auto search the channels

is this a question or a statement?

I once used a wireless to wired ethernet dongal to hook up a tivo to trick it into thinking it had a wired connection because it wouldn't stream saved content to the sub-boxes in a total home dvr setup over the wireless.

It worked, true story!

U have paid cable, u don't need the converter box.Not even the analog tv require the coverter box, if u have paid cable or satalite tv or telicom signal.All ur tvs is hook up to the Comcast Cable correct?That all u need not, require the converter box.

Uninstall the DTV Box and scart leads completley. If the box id new take it back to the store and ask them to connect it to one of their TVs or u connect to another TV in your House. The retailer may swap it if faulty. Other than that, Tap the DTV Box 3 or 4 times on the top, blow out all the connections or use a vacuum cleaner this will clear dust and re connect and re install.

Antenna may not be compatible with DTV signals or not aimed correctly.  Go the www.dtvanswers.com and click on the Antennas tab at the top for more info.

first off make sure u have the box turn off

this is what i would do:
i would get a short coaxile cable and splitter and hook them up to your tv

If you're not on cable or satellite, you will need an antenna to get off-the-air reception. This TV does not have a DTV tuner, so you will also need the converter box. Depending on how far you are from the broadcasters' transmitters, you might be able to get away with an indoor antenna. Or you might find that you get few channels with the inside antenna and then you'll need something outdoors. There are a number of styles to choose from.

The antenna hooks to the converter box, and the converter box then goes to the TV. It can be hooked to the TV's "ANTENNA" connector. This should be covered in the set's manual where it shows you how to connect a regular antenna. With the box, your TV will always stay on channel 3 or 4 (depends on how you set up the box) and you'll change channels on the converter.

You can also connect the converter to the TV with audio and video cables like you would a DVD player. Most of the "coupon-eligible" converter boxes include direct video and audio output jacks. This gives you better picture and sound quality than by hooking it to the TV's antenna input.

Hooking up a converter box is like going back in time to when cable TV was new and you had to get a converter box from your cable company. Same way of hooking it up. Hope this helps!

Need to get more granular on this, Does the volume work HT remote, for like radio, cd, ipod audio? For you to use the tv audio through the HTB the tv's audio settings should be on the "fixed" output option. This gives a line level to the Amp independant of the tvs volume adhjustment. Otherwise you will need to adjust tvs volume 75% or so before the audio amp will reproduce a good volume. Turn down audio amp prior to making any adjustments. Let me know thx

With a cable or DTV converter box hooked up, the only channel the TV will find is channel 3 or 4 (depending on how the box is set). Make sure the set is on the right channel and you should be OK. Also make sure the cable is good. If you have several TV's connected to the same source you might have a bad cable or splitter somewhere in the chain. Hope this helps!
