Re: viewsat platinum receiver
Hi mokad whenthe receiver has the problem of the screen "shiver" what you need to do is makesure all connections are tight and secure. Then you will want to press thebuttons of MENU-6-1-1, you will then select Check Switch and TEST and after thetest is complete you will clear out of all menus and the receiver will resetand require the signal, download the program guide and you will have your clearTV programs.

Hey Jeff this is Mike Houston of DISH Network and I have received your e-mail and I there are some things that can be done to resolve this. The first thing you will want to do is replace the batteries in the remote, and unplug the receiver for 10 seconds and plug it back in. The receiver will power back up on its own and acquire the signal and download the Program Guide, try to scroll the channels and see if it is resolved. If the issue is not resolved please e-mail me at [email protected] and I will assist you further.
It is possible, while rare, for a remote to no longer be programmed to
the receiver after a reset. To fix that a simple readdress should fix
the problem. I have provided the steps below to assist you with that!
Addressing Remote to Receiver:
1.) Go to System Info screen.
2.) Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
3.) Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.
4.) Press the pound (#) button.
5.) Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record.
6.) Test remote and see if works.
Hey akuennen, it sounds like it may be with the receiver itself.
Try unplugging the receiver for about 15 seconds and plugging it back in. If the problem persists let me know here, or you can email me at [email protected] and I would be happy to look at it further with you.
Hey knapshak, Tommy Faust with DISH Network here. It would need to be programmed to the receiver in order to change programming. You can do that by following the steps below.
1. Access System Information screen from your main TV. 2. Note the number on the bottom of screen next to Remote Address. 3. Hold SAT until all buttons on top light up then release. 4. While SAT is blinking enter a number between 1-15 and press # (Different from number listed) 5. Press record 3 times and the number should change, try the remote and see if you can change channels.

I have the same issue and find it unbelievable that the Dish Network DVR is so noisy. It's virtually a deal killer, except now I have the damn dish on my roof. Why can't Dish commission a better quality product?
Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Servicehere. I came across your post and wanted to see if I could help. Usually withthe black screen with banner issue the best trouble shooting step to perform isa hard reset by unplugging the receiver for ten seconds from the wall outlet. If you have already tried a HR the next step would be to check your softwareversion and smart card revision number. You can do this by pressing menu6(system setup) - 1(installation) - 3(system info) once you are in the systeminfo screen you will see Software, your software number should be L4.85. Inorder to get the Smart Card revision number you will need to press the number 3on your keypad now that you are already in the system info screen. Once you arein the system info three screen you will see DNASP at the top of the screen, the number that should be listed is 241 DshH03 or DshH05. If either option isnot up to date you will need to update them by running another check switchtest then powering the receiver off for 30 minutes to allow the receiver todownload the software. For a 004 error message the best trouble shooting stepsto try are the hard reset and also a check switch test. The 004 error messageusually indicates a switch issue but there can also be something else causingthe issue and you may need to have a tech go out to your home. In the case thatyou do need a tech the cost with out the Service Plan should be $95 if you wereto add the Service Plan for $6 a month you would not pay anything for the Techvisit. I hope you find this information useful and if you have any other questions about this issue or any others feel free to email me at [email protected] anytime! Thanks and have a great day! :)
Hey my nameis Mike Houston of DISH Network and I see where you want to run the SanyoDVW-6000 DVD/VCR Player to the DISH Network receiver. You can run the SanyoDVD/VCR directly to the TV and pick the channel you want to record and it willrecord the channel showing.
Hello, Tommy Faust with DISH Network here. I'm sorry your guide is showing you incorrect information.
What may fix it is a hard reset where you unplug the receiver from the power outlet for 15 seconds and plug back in. If that doesn't work then try a check switch test. Go into Menu - 6 (System Setup) - 1 (Installation) - 1 (Point Dish) and select check switch then select test.
If you are still having the issue or any further questions feel free to ask here.
Hey there! This is Becki Barned with Dish Network customer service. The issue that you are having sounds easy to resolve. If you have not gotten this resolved or for future reference, here are some simple steps. First, you want to download your program guide again. Go ahead and pull up the guide, then pres 999, then the BROWSE button, or the right arrow, and this will prompt a guide download. That should resolve it. Or you can try to unplug the receiver from the power source for 10 seconds, that will download the guide as well! Hope this helps!
You sure describe a bad receiver to me. Press MENU-6-1-3 and select details. Scroll down the page and you will see a section of VALUES 1-9 all should be zeroed except 7 which should not be over 4 and 8 at 1. If yours reads anything greater you will need it replaced.
