Shut off timer runs fan for only 10 seconds

This shut off fan runs a bathroom fan. It worked fine for a while but now only runs about 10 seconds, no matter setting. For example, set at 10 minutes, it runs for 10 seconds then shuts off. Set for 20 minutes, it runs for 10 seconds, drops to the 10 minute setting, runs for another 10 seconds, then shuts off. Can this be fixed?

SOURCE: ei210 in wall countdown timer in undocumented ''test mode''?

You could try disconnecting power to the switch for a few minutes maybe that will reset it. Other than that I would say cut your losses and replace it. Hope this helps a little.

SOURCE: Can the Intermatic El210 be set to turn things on and off?

You will need a more sophisticated timer than most hardware stores carry. Go to Smarthome.com and click their timers and automation section. There you will find many levels of sophistication in timers. good luck

SOURCE: how to set my grasslin

Open following link for setting Intermatic/Grasslin FM1 timer setting instructions:
To set the 24-hour analog timer, you need to move 4 consecutive tripper pins for each hour of run time.
So for 6 am to 6 pm, 48 trippers pins will be moved outward and 48 inward.

My bathroom heater shuts off after it's on for less than a minute. After a 10 minute wait, a click can be heard and it can be restarted. But only for another 45 seconds

The click sound is the thermostat. It closed and the allows power to the fan heater. The thermostat is faulty and won't allow you to select a higher heat setting.

I looked it up and it sounds like your unit is defective. It should run for 5, 10, 15, or 30 minutes. There are no "seconds" options. The timer chip/module may be defective.

I purchased the Legrand RT1 Time Switch to run a bathroom fan. It is installed and I see indicator lights. Every time I turn the fan on, it runs for a second and stops (hearing clicking in the switch);...

You connected red and white wires together.
No problem, nothing burned out, and it's simple to fix. Steps below.

RT1 is electronic countdown timer, and electronic timer clock inside needs separate circuit, just like your alarm clock needs to be plugged in. >> that's why timer has white wire. White wire completes circuit to timer clock.

Manual says:
Timer-black-wire to Hot; Timer-red-wire to Load (lights)
Timer-white-wire to Neutral.
Heres what to do
1) Timer-green-wire connects to bare ground wire.
2) Switch has 2 wires. Take switch wires and connect them to timer-black-wire and timer-red-wire. Choose either one for now.
3) In back of electric box are white wires twisted together and covered with wire nut. Connect timer-white to these wires.
4) If electric box does not have white wires described above, then connect timer-white to bare ground.
5) Turn on electricity, and push countdown button. If lights come on, timer is wired correctly. If lights do not come on, then reverse timer-red and timer-black wires.

Hello, what does it mean when the fan is still running after the car has been turned off. it's still running after 1 hour

Most electric fan will run after car is shut off when it is hot, to cool the coolant. They shouldn't run for more that 15 min tops. It sound like a timer is malfunctioning.
hope that helps

I recently had a fan installed in a small bathroom (5x8). The mirror and windows still fog up even when I take a brief shower. A few minutes after the water stops running, the moisture does seem to clear...

On the assumption that your bathroom is 8 ft high, then the volume of air in the bathroom is 5x8x8 or 320 cu ft. Even if your fan is 80 cfm it would take 4 minutes to completely exchange the air. Leaving the door slightly ajar would assist.
To overcome a similar problem, I installed a second fan with a push button 10 minute timer so the fan runs for a few minutes after I leave the bathroom.
