Although the water dispenser works, it appears that the water is not activating for the ice maker on my LSC26905SB LG side by side refrigerator.  Can you suggest what might be causing the problem

No ice - water is working fine. Removed tube, it is not frozen. What else might be the problem?

Even if the temperature in the freezer is below freezing, the ice machine will not function if the temperature is not around 15-20 degrees. My ice maker stopped dumping the ice, even though it was filling properly, and the water would eventually freeze. My problem is related to excessive frost accumulation on the back wall, which in turn, shut down the fan, which in turn, raised the temperature in the freezer. Once I defrosted the freezer manually, the ice maker started to work again, until the frost buildup occurred again. I recommend placing a thermometer in the freezer to get a reading.

I believe the tube that pours water into the icemaker tray is clogged with frozen water and can not fill the tray and your fridge can not make ice. You have to unplug your fridge and let the tube to defrost. It is a long tube (about 1.5 foot) and using a blow dryer may not do the job. You can unscrew the the gray plastic cover at the back of the fridge and pull out the tube and let it defrost and then put it back.

I just bought an LSC26905TT and it was used there are three electric valves where the water goes into the fridge on the back the first valve on the bottom for some reason was running directly into the door water dispenser which tells me it was bypassing the ice features. One tell-tale symptom of this is that once in a while you'll notice it squirt water as it is on the master valve which opens when each of the other valves open. So I swapped the tube by pulling the clip and pushing the sleeve up pulling the tube out and swapping it with one of like size (the large tube coming up the back to the filter) there are three ports for tubing the one closest to you should go to the large filter (blue) tube. the one on the back right should be a small white tube going straight up to the back of the freezer. and the one on the back right should be a large blue tube going under the fridge towards the front (door) which is for the water dispenser. the middle one is your supply (small blue tube) the one that comes back from the filter. If the "wiring" of the hoses is correct then the back left solenoid is either stuck or broken. you may have to replace both rear solenoids, it looks to be a simple job and part may not be too expensive either. always remember to pull the sleeves back down the tube after you've shoved it in the hole and replace the black clips so they cannot fall out.

Just bought a used westinghouse RJ275M fridge. It seems to work fine except for the noise - it has a low hum and rattling noise.

It can be compressor fan noise, may be motor getting overheated and causing noise. It has to be inspected.

I have a hotpoint refrigerator freezer that works fine except i am having issues with the ice maker. The tube carrying the water to the ice maker goes through a support cup. Water has started freezing in...

Make sure tube is pushed all the way into back wall tight. Then make sure tube angles downward so water completely drains. This is a goofy GE problem.

Frigidaire signaling water dispenser instead of ice maker

Sounds like the water solinoid valves are wired wrong. One activates The water dispenser. The other the ice maker. That, why every so often the water shoots out on the floor. The ice maker is telling the valve to open.
