Samsung B/W Observation System - Model# SSC-12

My Samsung system that was purchased in January, 2004 stopped working.  The green power light in front of the monitor blinks off and on making a click sound and the monitor (SSC-12M) screen is black.  I have 3 outside cameras (SSC-12C) hooked up.  I also have it hooked up to a time lapse vcr recorder (SSC-1280).  Is the monitor bad, or is it the cameras?  How do I find out.  I never had a problem before today.

Makes a clicking noise and no picture ----can it be fixed or need replacing ??
    Thanks

Same problem. Power seems to be cycling on the system which powers the cameras and monitor together. There is a faint burnt smell. The fuse looks fine. Will have to rip it apart further to see if it is something I can solder.

Same problem experienced with my SSC-12 (i.e. will not power up and has clicking sound from the back). Have the unit into a TV repair shop to see if they can breathe some life into it. In the interim have been looking for a replacement unit (basically same size i.e. 12" due to the location where I want to place the monitor). Seems that 12" security systems with RJ-11 camera inputs are hard to find. The only other options I have found are the SMO120S and (LG) LSP-M1012E and I have yet to find a source where I can purchase either of them. If the TV repair shop does fix my monitor I will advise what was done.

The monitor flicks on and off. Have disconnected and reconnected and within a minute it starts doing it all over. Have 4 cameras connected to it.

I too have the same set-up with 3 cameras. Monitor screen is black and when you turn it on, green ligt flashes and makes the same beep, click noise. Purchased in 2004 as well. Cannot find owners manual and cannot even locate any information on this product on Samsung's website.

Same problem here after a close lightning strike. Fuse was good, main switch was operable. Noticed a charred spot next to a heat sink which has two diodes that appeared to be burnt. One being a zener diode, the other a simple diode. Gonna replace them and see what happens. Any suggestions?

Hi,

The blinking green power light in front of the monitor - indicates 2 possibilities:
1. no video signal received (highly unlikely - 3 cameras); or
2. most likely internal monitor problem with part(s) of its circuitry and the auto-protect/shutdown is activated, hence the powering on and shutting down (blinking green power light). The clicking sound is most probably a relay inside the monitor that switches the power on and off.

A few thoughts:
1. The cameras get their power from the monitor. So if the monitor goes bad, the cameras will also be inoperable. And the same also holds true if any of the camera develops a power problem, the monitor would react;
2. The VCR is a separate unit and gets its video INput from the monitor and would not be an issue at the moment.

Things you can try:
a. Remove all the RJ11E ("Telephone" type) camera inputs and plug them back one by one just to determine if it's a camera problem and the monitor is simply reacting; or
b. Use a different monitor of the same type of input/configuration connectors.

Hope this be of some idea/help. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

We have this system at work. It will not play back the vhs tape. I've tried to press 'vcr' button on monitor and a black screen with 'no signal' flashes. Also tried just pressing play on the vcr, still nothing. I have checked connections, disconnected and reconnected. Getting alittle frustrating. Please help with any ideas. Thanks

Monitor won't turn on after a few hours of being shut off

If it EVER works, then the problem is not a failed part, but a weak part. The most likely component type to give you such problems are capacitors. But very few repair techs know how to find such problems, and even fewer have the equipment needed to find the bad one(s) in-circuit. The failure mode is high ESR (ESR means Equivalent Series Resistance). The lower the ESR, the better. Capacitors with high ESR cannot stabilize circuits which demand high pulse currents, such as in switch mode power supplies.

My monitor dont come on, and green light flashng, viewsonic vp930b.

If your ViewSonic LCD monitor has stopped working with a blinking green power button, It typically means that there is one or more failed capacitors in the monitor. It would be best to send the monitor in to Viewsonic for service or to purchase a new monitor.

Green light blinking

First place to look will be the power supply section, common problems with all LCD monitors.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed SAMSUNG monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Samsung Syncmaster 710n no display and no LED light

The power button should be on the FRONT BOTTOM RIGHT. and there should be a little led/light next to it. make sure everything is plugged in correctly and press the power button, the led should light up, and then boot your computer.

Green light continously blinking in samsung sync master 753s

1. cpu problem. why because of there is no signal output from cpu to monitor. the led blinking means there is no vertical, horizontal signals from cpu to monitor.

2. your monitor connected to another system.

3. neck board dry points.

4. cheak the display cable. 13&14 pins are horizontal, vertical signals.1, 2, 3 pins , R G B , 6 ,7, 8 pins R G B ground ( coaxiler cable used , meshed wire is ground )

hi there, light blinks constanly means a shorted electronics parts, most of it are in the horizontal sec., and power supply. check first the power supply if you have a constant voltage output, else your prob . is in the horizontal section. do somr test and check up. ty
