Question about Samsung Washing Machines

Drain pump continuously running on Samsung Model WF448AAP/XAA

Drain pump automatic starts once I hit the power button and its continue to drain out the water at the beginning of a cycle. So It would not move the next cycle because of no water in the washer and it would give an error message of "Low Water Pressure". This washer is about 3-4 years old. I think it's kind of shame for a $900 washer

Do pull the plug out first
not funny dancing with the machine

have you checked the pressure pipe for any cuts
look near the pressure switch area first

Testimonial: "All the pipes are fine. I did pull the plug, replaced the drain pump and the same thing still happen. I'm thinking is the PCB or machine control board. But I want to get all opinions before ordering that pricey part."

Unplug the machine. Unscrew the 3 screws under the front edge of the washer. The service technician manual is attached to the panel that slides down and off. Find F21 code. See suggested procedures. Note: My drain pump filter had a baby wash cloth in it along with some change that was disrupting the flow. It is exceptionally easy to remove, clean, and reinstall. Just line up installation notches when reinstalling. Whirlpool should have mentioned this filter in the User & Care Guide, but I could not find it anywhere in there.

As soon as the waser begins the wash cycle pause, open door record water level in sump.

Close door and continue cycle until machine faults and stops.

Open door, record water level in sump.

Compare before and after. If level is low that the flapper valve that allows the water to drain is stuck open and the water is draining into the sink as the unit is washing.

To confirm, if the washer drain hose is connect to the neck of the disposal or sink drain, observe the drain after restarting the wash cycle from the beginning. If water is trickling out from the dishwasher while it is washing then it is confirmed the drain door is not closed if equipped with that configuration.

All washers have a process and hardware to drain. Some have a sepperate drain pump

yes the drain pump should start at this point so I would suspect a faulty drain pump,But try a reset first push and hold power button until lights reset then try a cycle if this fails to fix problem then I would suspect the drain pump.adrian,,,,,

Hi Erin just read your post,I have worked on these machines alot.Now I need you to manually drain the machine of all the water. Once drained i want you to select drain and spin cycle. Now push the start button,do you hear the pump working?If you do stop the machine and select normal cycle on small water level and push the start button.The machine will then fill.Once it stops filling stop the machine and select drain an spin cycle.Does the machine pump out? Your washing machine is fully automatic?
the washing cycle is normal?
if yes do the same maybe it will help you.
for the fully automatic washing machine mostly have drain pump, please check the filter of your drain pump, how? remove the cup of your drain pump like a ordinary cup, screw it clock wise or counter clock wise.
Remove drain pump filter and clean it, some hair pins, cotton buds or coins or any small item that coz of clog up.
if your washing machine dont have drain pump ,but fully automatic check the drain motor if running or not? how? open the back cover for top loader washing machine only, select spin cycle and press start to see the drain motor running? the drain motor is like a small box with small wire to pull the lever of the drain to remove water inside, if the motor running or pull the lever of the water pipe but water still inside the washing machine, remove the drain cup or cover and clean it or check if have coin or cloth inside that coz of clog or water stuck,
if the drain pump or drain motor is weak this is will cause and long time draining or totally not running the drain pump or drain motor and its cause of totally stop the cycle of washing machine in rinse time or spin time, because all fully automatic washing machine, after washing cycle the drain pump or drain motor must be on, to remove water before start the next cycle. rinse or spin cycle.

Washing machine will not drain

Since you've already checked the pump, hoses and motor, here are some additional issues to look at:

1. Faulty timer: Does your machine fill with water and begin agitating, but the cycle never advances far enough to allow the water to drain? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. Arrange for washing machine repair service.

2. Worn or loose belts: Are clothes still soaked at the end of a wash, even though the washing machine appears to go through the spin and drain cycles? The timer that controls the cycles may be broken. This is a job for the pros.

3. Faulty or jammed internal impeller on pump: When the spin cycle starts, do you hear a humming noise? The internal impeller that moves the water through the drain pump may be faulty or jammed. A grinding or grating sound is almost always an indication of a coin, button or other object colliding with the impeller. Have a washing machine repair expert determine if the impeller is jammed and can be cleared, or if the pump needs to be replaced.

Start the wash cycle, water starts to run in,F21 displays and a humming noise begins and the door will not open no matter what effort you make to try and open. Reset cycle to rinse and water will not go...

f21 is no drain error code,you have to take off the bottom panel,you'll need a shop vac or something to catch water,put some towels down under the pump,the middle of the pump unscrews so you can clean it out,turn the center part counterclockwise slowly,when the water starts leaking out vac it up as it leaks out,doesn't take long to drain it,when it's drained remove the center piece and you'll find some lovely things in the catch,feel around inside the pump to make sure you get everything out and nothing is hitting the impeller or stuck on it,if it doesn't drain after that and the pump just humms you'll need a new pump,good luck,if i can help you with anything else let me know

What is causing the drain pump to continue running

C1 - Partially Blocked Drain - This error will occur when dishwasher was unable to pump out water in less than 95 seconds. Check drain line for debris and blockage. If clear, check for a restricted drain valve in the pump. Check the pressure sensor for correct operation as it sounds like it may be defective and thinks that the machine is still full of water after it has emptied.
