Question about Canon MF8350Cdn AllInOne Laser Printer
Front cover is not closed, can't get the error to go away
Posted by Anonymous on
I had the same issue, turning off didn't solve it.
There's a plastic flap the width of the print tray just inside that I flipped up and it solved this problem. It is directly in front of the ink tanks. I'm assuming we flipped it down and forgot about it. It seems it needs to stay up, although you wouldn't notice it when it flips down when you close the top, as it closes just fine with it down. It's easy to overlook. This took me a few hours to realize.
The top of the flap has a half circle cut out of it in the middle.

Try to open and closed the front door several times,If the left cover and the front door are closed properly and still showing "close front door" most
probably the internal contact of door switch are not good , door switch replacement is needed

When the message shows means inner cover sensor is faulty so it cannot detect inner cover state correctly. Try to clean the contact sensor with contact cleaner is good idea since it sometimes an oxidation occurs. Many times I success fix the problem like this.

there are switch behind the front door that are activated by the front cover. you may have a broken or missing actruator pin on the front door. look very carefully on the door for anything that seems to be missing. if ther is just use a piece of paper to actuate the switch. jaime
