Inlet Valve I had a problem with the cold water not filling at full spead, just a trickle, but the hot worked fine. I bought a new water inlet valve, and that worked, for about two weeks. Now it has the same problem. Is there a fuse or wire connection problem for the cold water side?

SOURCE: Water temperature problem

Chief Walley, you have a temperature control board that sits right behind the timer. A thermistor senses the water and sends the info to this board. The thermistor sits at the water injector. The board may be your problem, I have seen many like this. Keep in mind that the target temp for cold is 75 degrees. If your incomming water is higher than this, you are going to get a warm fill, which they think is cold. Without being there, I would go after the board. Catriver...post back.

SOURCE: cold water continues to run during entire wash cycle

Adrea, sounds like you need a new valve. When it's doing this leaking, unplug the washer. If it's still leaking you know for sure it's the valve. Part number for the model posted is 22002360. Catriver..post back.

Water wont go in washer when on cold /cold or warm cold but will fill on hot cycle. Only cold water is connected. i dont even have hot hose connected---has worked fine for a year on cold/cold. Now has a...

The inlet valve on the cold water inlet is clogged, dirty or jammed. You need to remove the inlet valve and clean the valve and filter. use back flushing with brushing to clean the filter.
the hum you hear is of the coil working but is not opening to allow water into the system.
Also you can switch the inlet valve from the hot line if needed .
check this link for removing the inlet valve:

Water inlet valve is broken. When the hot water is turn to fill it trickles in. Pressure from fill hose is there.

before you replace the valve you should remove the hot and cold water hoses and check and clean the screens on the inlet valves and if there are screens on the hoses check and clean those also. i suspect the screens are dirty and plugged. if they are not, then remove the water valve and replace it.

The water fills very slowly on rinse

You probably have a cold inlet valve with restricted flow, either because the filter on the inlet valve is clogged or because the cold valve is failing......If you wash on "warm" you have both hot and cold water mixed. On rinse there is probably only cold water used....Check water flow for HOT and COLD settings and you'll probably see the difference...Good luck...Nomess

The hot water fills fine but the cold water just trickles in. The screen filters in the hoses are clear. Is there another screen filter on the cold water? Do I need a new inlet valve?

yes, there is another filter which you must clean. turn the water valve off, then remove the cold fill hose from the machine, and there is a small gauze filter in side the vavle from were you removed the hose, using a small pliers, pinch this little filter out, it will be full of limescale, wash it, replace it, put back the cold fill hose, turn water back on and select your programme. you will find that it is now working perfectly.

The cold water comes out on a trickle. the warm & hot settings come out normal. nothing is caught in the line.

check the screens for dirt in the end of the fill hoses and the water inlet valve on the machine. you may need to try replacing the water inlet valve.

Slow cold water flow won't go back to full flow

I think the water inlet valve is nearly stopped up with sediment in the screen filter where the supply hose screws to the valve.Cut the water off at the hose and disconnect and look for the screen. The hot water usually doensn't do this because the water has time to settle everything out while it's in the hot water heater.

The inlet valve that the hoses attach too the solenoid for the hot side may be stuck closed or clogged with sediment. May need new inlet valve.

I have the washer on cold water, but it runs warm, stops, trickles, then comes out warm again, stops, trickles, then warm again ect.On the rinse cycle it will only trickle out.

The water fill valve - The water fill valve is a mechanical and electrical part, the coils on the valve need electricity to mechanically open the valve to allow the water to flow into the washer....myth....the washer pumps water into itself...no, it does not. The fill valve opens and the house water pressure pushes the water into the washing machine.
No cold water or no hot water - The fill valve has two coils, one for the hot water and one for the cold water. It is possible that one of the coils can fail and you loose that filling ability. If the cold water coil quits, the hot will still work and during warm fill you will get hot water only and during a cold fill you will get no water at all. If the hot coils quits, you will still have cold water fill, cold water only on a warm setting and no water on a hot fill setting. You can test a fill valve live for 120 volts, power to a fill valve coil and no fill = a bad fill valve. You can also test the coils for continuity, no continuity = a bad fill valve. Some Maytag washers have a fuse in the fill valve circuit, if this fuse let go the washer will not fill. Fill valves can also from time to time stick open and not stop filling. If you have to shut off the fill valves to stop the water from filling in the washer, you have a bad fill valve and you will have to replace it.

Hot water not working

You say the cold water hose works on the hot water side? Or did you mean you've already eliminated the possible problem of new hoses?

If that is the case, it's definately water inlet valve. Sounds like you have a blockage in the screen (check that for me). If there's no lint stuck in the hot water screen, then you need to replace the inlet valve. It's possible the solenoid of the inlet valve on the hot side is stuck shut only allowing the cold to fill. Before you buy a new valve, take the old one out and play around with it. The plunger like solenoids will come off and you can check for debirs in there. If there's debris, clean it out and try the cycle again. If there's not debris, the part needs to be replaced.

Karen, start by removing the cold water hose to the inlet valve in back. It will have a screen in the inlet valve. Make sure the screen is clear of sand and debris. Start there and post back. Catriver.
