It spins once, then stops for about 10 seconds, then spins once then stops again and this is all it does. Then the clothes come out wet and dirty still. I have taken the front panel off and the filter is clean.
Testimonial: "I watched it. It spins twice then stops for 30 seconds. It has done this for the last 15 minutes. If there is a fault. How much is that going to cost to be fixed. What part do i need to replace. That's if it can be fixed?"

by cleaning your pump filter at leased once a month will make your washer perform better and last longer. it will stop problems accuring such as (door will not open ) (the machine will not spin on final spin ) (wet cloths) (un even loads) (dirty cloths) (smell & mould ) another good tip is dry off the rubber door seal after use and sprinkle a little talk powder on it this will stop it staining with mould.
Randall, the high speed spin failure can be caused by a number of issues. I would suggest starting the machine without any clothes in it. Once it has filled, make sure the door lock light is on and that the door is, in fact, locked. If the light is not on, or if the door is not actually locked, either the door lock assembly or the control panel is at fault.
If the light is on and the door is locked, stop the wash cycle and start a drain and spin cycle to see if all of the water is pumped out of the drum. All water should be pumped out within 10-15 seconds. If excess water is in the drum, the high speed spin will not start.
Does the water run through the ENTIRE spin cycle? There is a period where the water will run during the spin; This is called, the "Final Rinse". But it usually only runs for about 10 seconds then stops.
Dislodge the white covering infront (just located at the bottom). Once opened, unscrew the black button at the right hand side. Once open, check for blockages like coins, loose items, even lint. This worked for me and saved me $$$!!!! Now my Ariston is back to its superb performance. Do read the manula once in a while, it does help!
This problem is caused by the heating element not working. The machine won`t spin & finish because the machine knows it hasn`t heated the water during the wash programe but clock will still count down.this is what we were told by a hotpoint engineer.the callout charge is £89.98
from hotpoint this includes parts & labour.
