Start with the heating element. You won’t need a wiring diagram for that and it’s the most likely problem with the dryer. Watch a YouTube video on how to install.
The Kenmore 417.81102003 was built by Frigidaire. The E61 error usually means a problem with the heater relay or the wiring. The E64 error indicates the problem may be the heating element or the wiring. To further diagnose the problem, you need to unplug the dryer and disconnect the exhaust hose. Then use the trouble-shooting sheet and wiring diagram that is usually inside the machine. (Often the sheet is inside the unit behind the control panel and accessed after removing part of the back). You will need a multi-meter to check for resistance and continuity across the relay, element and wiring.
Thanks for the pics. I operate in UK and color codes here are different. From what I can see the wiring in your picture does not match the US standard either. The thermal fuse for example should have two blue terminals, not red and blue. The thermal fuse wires goes on one side to start, and on the other to the drive motor through the broken belt switch (if present). The wiring at the blower must be revised and done again.
About the red and yellow cable, the only red yellow wire in the diagram operates the switch for the guard function. The wire becomes hot and powers the motor when the guard switch is closed.
here is a wiring diagram images for kenmore dryer wiring diagram - and here is another site also fixitnow.com/appliantology/laundrywiringdiagrams.htm hope this helps ya
Make sure you also have a dedicated outlet and power source for your dryer. This means a single outlet with a single circuit breaker. Most homes are constructed this way to ensure safe operation of the appliance and to prevent improper loading. If you have questions, please let me know.
As far as a wiring diagram is concerned, most manufacturers place a schematic drawing inside the operator console of the appliance for troublshooting purposes. I hope this helps.
The manufacturer normally places a wiring diagram inside the operator console. Remove the back panel and there should be a diagram taped inside. Some of these diagrams will show two circuits. One is for a gas dryer, and one is for an electric dryer. Make sure you reference the correct one. I hope this helps you. If you need further assistance please let me know.
