My hp 1320 printer has a jam in the back. I think it is in the bottom but I don't know how to get tray out.

Only a technician can help you with a jam on that model. It must be stripped to the frame.

Vcr/dvd player has started eating tapes. dirty heads? how do you fix it?

OK, lets get the terminology correct and resolve this. The most common cause of this symptom is a bad drive belt. These units are a bit tricky to get to without a soldering iron. The cables to the video heads and the audio head are soldered in. These must be removed to gain access to the belt. What is happening is that the pinch roller is pulling the tape across the heads correctly, but the belt for the takeup side is slipping and is not pulling the tape back into the cassette. This is a very common problem and is due to the heat inside drying out the belt. The repair cost for this will be about $5-$8 for the belt and the local labor charge.

If the unit has been a good performer for a while, the repair is worth it as the replacement belt should last at least as long as the original.

Hope this helps,
