SOURCE: Radio stations fuzzy and not coming in anymore - Sony CDX-GT310

i have the same problem, it was a factory fit and the garage checked it and all the connections were ok, it appears to be a fault with the receiver.the radio is just 3 years old.

SOURCE: Sony CDX FM reception

Yes you need to check your antenna if the tuning has not shifted. there could be an insulation fault if the antenna have a faulty cord within. the present models come with a fixed antennae and so the problem is limited. Look behind the set to see if the jack to the antenna input is loose. You can connect another one to confirm this , if so change with an original replacement as there are many spurious low quality ones. I am sure you will get more years of use. Good day.

Quiet distorted sound coming from my turntable

If the turntable's cartridge/needle are "magnetic", you need an amplifier with a "PHONO" input. Most new amplifiers do NOT have one, as that stopped when CDs began replacing LPs decades ago. Since the reemergence of LPs, some expensive amps have added a PHONO input again. Only really cheap turntables have CERAMIC cartridge/needles (usually under $100), which work fine with any amplifier input but are of a much lower quality than magnetic. Places like Radio Shack and The Source sell inexpensive Pre-amplifiers for this task of increasing the sound level and correcting the frequency response to RIAA standards. The latest turntable I bought had a Preamplifier built in plus a USB connection for converting LPs to Digital.

Could be a bad connection in between radio and antenna . Check that first . If that doesn't work try a film strip antenna

CDX changer has power but doesn't want to eject after flat battery

i resolved this myself in the end.
I unplugged the audio & power cables whilst the stereo and engine was running.
Then plugged back in.
I turned the engine off and stereo off as well.
I then unplugged audio and power again from the back of the CDX, left it unplugged for 10 minutes whilst the engine was still off.
I then plugged the leads back in and turned the engine on. the stereo recognised the CDX, but stayed on displaying "CD Checking". I switched to radio for 20 seconds, turned back to CDX and it selected CD 1 and has been good ever since.

I'm rather pleased with myself!
