My plasma tv

Today my tv has been on all day as usual. all of a sudden my tv shuts off by itself and a red light starts to blink instead of green. Is that a bad sign?? pls help.

Yes, my TV does the same thing after only an hour of being on. The red blinking light indicates a static buildup. My TV has worked fine for 1 1/2 years and then all of a sudden this issue. The TV is almost un-useable . Some posts online indicate attached devices like DVD players can cause this but no one has a definitive answer. Philips support had me upgrade firmware, but this did not resolve it.

Our 50" plasma has a

The television shuts itself off and the light blinks in the front to protect itself when something is wrong with it. It will come back on a few times when unplugging and replugging but by doing that and not getting repairs done it has gone into a coma and will most likely not turn on again until it has been serviced. You can try leaving it unplugged for several days to see if you can get it to come back on.

TV suddenly shut off, blinking red light in power button

The TV's power supply capacitors probably went bad.

Check with a mobile tv repair co. to see if it is worth fixing.

Power on

Depends on how many times it flashes RED.
On the units with fans (usually the HD models) a 6 blink flash code indicates improper fan rotation and the unit will shut down.

These blinks are counted as they go DARK, not as they light up.

Remove the rear panel but do not clean out the dust from the fans until you see which has the improper rotation.

Cleaning may help once you find the baddie, if not they will need to be replaced.

Panasonic 50 inch Plasma

it could have over heated you can try to reset it first unplug it for about five minutes and try to turn it on if that dont work the remote might have a set button try holding that down until the red light flashes twice, then turn it on if not then hold the power button down on the set for a good five seconds to see if that resets it. if none of that works you will have to go to panasonic .com for the reset instructions.with the red light blinking the power supply is most likely good you just need to reset i.
