You have a faulty fill valve

If you want to check which one, try turning off the cold supply only before you go to bed

If the washer has water in it next morning it is the hot valve that has gone faulty if it is dry then it is the cold one

They are easy to change and can be bought from a number of suppliers

Water fills the tub after cycle is over

sounds like you have a leaking solonoid valve (thats the valve that your water pipe connects to at the back of your machine) replacing it is quite easy if you know how to remove the top of your machine (2 screws). If you decide to have a go, disconnect from the mains before doing anything else, and turn off the water supply to the machine. you will need to know if it is filling with hot or cold water (if you have 2 water pipes connected). An easy way to find which it is, is by turning off either the hot or cold connections to it one at a time when its not in use. After all that remove the top of the machine disconnect the leaking valve from the internal pipes and electricial connections (remembering where they go) and replace it with the new one.

Hotpoint wf240 has stopped working, sounds like the motor or brushes. Problem is there is washing in the tub and we cannot get the door open. Please advise how to open the door ?

Return the program dial to a finished position. Power the machine off (Unplug it). Leave it 20 minutes and it SHOULD reset. Note, if there is water above the level of the door, it is a good idea to pull the machine out and tip it back slightly until the water is not against the door, then you can remove clothes and bail the tub out

Black stains on door

If it is inside, it is probably mold growing. Front loaders are much more susceptible to mold growth as they seal up tighter, and we all tend to keep the door closed when it is not in use.
Clean the inner door and bellows surfaces with a 50/50 bleach/water solution, applying liberally, and dump the rest into the tub of the washer. Add 1 more cup of bleach to the tub. Fill all of the dispenser cups with bleach. Run the hottest , longest cycle available with the hottest rinse cycle available. For us, it is the "sanitary" cycle. Run a normal cycle immediately thereafter to flush out residual bleach, and leave the door open. The cleaning along with the air drying will keep the mold from growing, and reduce the odors that these machines are famous for. Leave the door open between loads.

No spin

If anyhow the drain pump is blocked the spinning will be blocked. Check for a forrign object in the drain pump. If you can feel/hear it buzz (very quietly) while it should be pumping out it might be jammed up with something. That however is kind of rare with the angled tub the Neptune uses.
Are you sure the machine is actually not pumping out, or is it possible its just turning off in the rinses?
Reason I'm asking is the control will shut the machine down if its taking too long to fill up. Many times it will fill fine for the wash fill, but because the rinse takes twice the ammount of water it activates the system and shuts down while its half way filled. Look for a slow cold water fill for that problem.

Is the door locking in the spin? One very common problem on the older 3000 and 4000 series machines is the R11 resistor on the machine control board bruning out leaving the door lock inoperative. If the door won't lock, it won't spin. I do believe, however, the machine will still pump out. But many times what happens is the pump removes all the standing water, but without spinning everything in the tub stays soaked. The saturated clothing drains the water out and then leaves a few inches in the bottom of the tub.

If you have the newer style Neptune (with the control panel on the front of the machine) only the top paragraph applies.

Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.

Random filling of the tub, door open, leaks on floor.

The only thing that can admit water with the power off to the machine is a bad Fill valve. Replace

Tub smells like mildew. Possible water still in tub but not visable. When tub is shaken hard by hand, slight sound of water sometimes. Still cleans well.

You will never get all of the water out of a washing machine using the pump

The only way to do it is to take the drain hose out of the standpipe remove all clips so that it lays flat on the floor and put it into a bucket

Even then there will still be a little bit left in.

Run two very hot programs witha good dose of washing soda placed in the drum before you fill it

Leave the door open when the machine has finished to allow it to dry off

Washer filled up with water when not turned on

It sounds like the water inlet valve assembly is letting a trickle of water thru when its not supposed to. It is located on the rear of the washer, it is the part the water hoses connect to. Make sure the power and water are turned off, then disconnect the water fill hoses. The valve is attached to a bracket, the valve will have 4 electrical selenoids on it and a hose leading further into the machine. Make a drawing of where the wires/colors were attached before you pull them off. The valve for that machine (MLG2000AWW or MLG2000AXW) usually costs about $45.00 to $55.00
