My husband and I just got new Motorola TracFones. HIs is a C139, mine is a V170. Even though the volume settings show a max of 7, it is very difficult to hear both the ring tone and the speaker. What to do?
A friend made a suggestion that really helped. I did a "Master Reset" and then upped the volume to the max. Still isn't the best quality, but at least I can use the phone.A friend made a suggestion that really helped. I did a "Master Reset" and then upped the volume to the max. Dear Jodinagy. Be sure that the problem isn't about the battery, but it could be even from the screen or the nap, try to by another screen and change it. But u said that it will not drop light up, so try that, or check your charge circuit, may be the charge don't get in easely or didn't, it happens for me; i've a nokia 3110c, the screen turn to black, and it does'nt change ubtil a change its screen.
The Time on most Cellular Phones is controlled from the Network, so there is no way for the user to manually adjust it. Try turning the phone off for a few seconds, and when it boots back up, the time should be updated. If not, it might take another hour or two, but it will eventually be correct.
Ah, I am a former tracfone customer, and the v170 phone was my first model. :) . Unfortunately no, because all of tracfone's phone models use a different sim card, even if you attempted to replace the sim card with an identical phone it would not work, the phone simply reads, UNREGISTERED SIM CARD. Its tracfone's way of making money, so unfortunately you'll have to put in your contacts all by hand :( which is a major pain in the rear.
According to the manual they suggest that the Backlight may be set to "OFF". To change this press the Menu key>Settings>Other Settings>Initial Setup>Backlight, and change it to on. If this doesn't work and you suspect that the display is truly burnt out, Go to your nearest mega store and buy a C139 tracfone for $14 and switch out your SIM card. your minutes and service should be be transfered to the new phone
