Logitech wireless optical mouse will sometimes only move diagonally when moved horizontally, like if it was locked in a diagonal grid, and sometimes start working normally again, it started happening when I started using an hdmi connected tv to my laptop, but I can't seem to find any settings to stop it from happening, could it be windows adjusting the mouse movement to the widerscreen? help please!

Made an account to say, for anyone else having a similar problem, what fixed it for me was blowing into the sensor hole on the bottom to get dust out.

The mouse is not something that is repaired and yours is defective.

SOURCE: Logitech Mouse

Where do you have the transmitter sitting? If it is below a desk (i.e., sitting on top of the computer tower, etc.) it may not be emitting a strong or consistent signal. Try moving it within a clear line of sight to the mouse. If that doesn't work, it could be a problem with the mouse itself and need to be replaced.

Hope this helps, let me know

SOURCE: My mouse will suddenly stop moving new battery doesnt help

Is there a resync button on the bottom and on the base station (that is on the end of the usb plug that you plug into your computer)? Press the one on the base station first, then the one on the mouse within a few seconds.

You could also:

Try another set of batteries.
Try another USB port.

SOURCE: Mouse stopped working, but appears ok, batteries ok, can't determine problem

Hope this helps others. My mouse stopped controlling cursor but buttons worked. Problem was it would not work on a black table. Slip a piece of white paper under it and waaala! It works. I'm thinking optical mouse and dark surface might be an issue.

Logitech wireless optical mouse won't move computer cursor

Sometimes on wireless mice the contacts get warped or bent, so when you move it or set it down the batteries are not making full contact on both ends and the mouse loses power.

You can try adjusting the contacts or using a conductive material to make the contact (like a staple or paperclip), but you're probably better off spending the $10 or $20 to get a new mouse.

Wireless keyboard and optical mouse

Thanks! I fixed the problem by installing a USB mouse and using fn+f9. That unlocked the mouse so I could use the pointer leaving just the keyboard problem. I then tried reconnecting the wireless keyboard (by using the button on the receiver and under the keyboard) Hey Presto!!

My cursor slides off of the screen (by itself) when I click & drag!

Seems there is something internally wrong in your mouse or you use the mouse on a very strange material base. I have heard that optical mouses can have strange behavior when used on glass tables or thick woolen carpets, a mouse pad would solve it. If that does not work and it's still under warranty, just ask for replacement or repair.
