Our Philips tv just started all at once turning itself off, sometimes it will come back on sometimes not for hours if then. someone said it could be a ssb board going bad if so is this aproblem I can fix or do we have to have a repair man an =d where would I get this part?

Re: TV powering off by itself
The SSB board (small signal board ) Part # PH3912725871 or 313912725871 is most likely the problem. From the rear it is on the left side of the chassis mounted vertically in a socket similar to a computer memory stick. There is a small ribbon cable that pluggs into it. You can try to re-seat the board after cleaning the contacts with a pencil eraser. It may help out but most of the time the board needs to be replaced. You wont like the price, They are over $200 and there is a $100 core charge.

o.k. your internal digital tuner sounds like its goin. what you need to do is take the back cover off and trace where you hook up your
digital signal (cable,ant.hdmi).then you will see 2 silverish boxes one is analog,other digital. get refrence #s off of board of the tuner thats conneted (trace the signal input wire to be sure) then e-mail me [email protected]
capacitor problems in power supply or a regulater isolate the power suppley by disconecting the line output stage/unplug scan coils for example and run a 60w bulb as a dummy load one wire to earth and the other to rail voltage colecter of line output transister if the bulb glows steady the power supplys fine
