Reset password wireless Sierra AT&T sim card

Bought Sierra Wireless for travel. Directions said to go to att.elevate and change password. So I changed attadmin to a password of my own. Ever since then my AT&T home Internet dsl 2wire264 won't let my laptop browsers get on the Internet. I can see where laptop is connected to 2642wire but I can't get on Internet at all now with home laptop! Fine print said something about having to change your laptop wife connection manager or something mi can't find out to do that. I can't go to att.elevate from anything as it says server not found. I have held the reset button in on Sierra and it reboots but I don't know how to see if it went back to attadmin , I'm not even sure this is tied into me not being able to get on Internet. Thanks for any help u can give me

SOURCE: Server not found} NetGear WGR614 Wireless Router doesn't connect me to the internet.

Dear Loud Nouises,

Your router must be connected properly to the cable modem. This must be to the wan port on the router.

Next, the router must be set-up accordingly to recognize the modem's internet connections. Please ask for the IP address.. and other relevant informations from your internet provider.

Set -up your computer using the internet connections wizard on each of your respective computer.

This should work fine if all connections were correctly configured.

SOURCE: how to install wireless router (huawei quidway wa1003a)

if you can connect to the internet when you connect the pc to whe lan port , then your internet connection is ok and all you need to set is the wireless settings in the router.
connect the pc to the router with a cable .
then , Start-> Run-> type cmd-> ok-> type ipconfig-> enter-> look on the default gateway address -> type the numbers of the default gateway in the address line in your internet explorer-> there you should check , enable and or change the wireless settings.

What a static ip is, is the ip address that the router automatically assigns to other equipment. (computers, xbox, ect.) Find D-links customer support line for help.

SOURCE: Help please! TP-Link Wireless Router TL-WR641G stopped working

It looks like all your devices by themselves are working fine.
Good start.
If you took the router out of your office I assume that the settings from the office and your home are different, which causes the setup not to work properly.

First of all you should find out which hardware version of the router you have and download the manual from here, so you have the information at hand when you're not online.

Then you want to rest the router to factory settings, so you start clean. In order to do so, use the Factory Default Reset button: First, turn off the router's power. Second, press and hold the default reset button then turn on the router's power, until the SYS LED lights up (about 3 seconds). Last, release the reset button and wait for the router to reboot.

Follow the instructions in the manual form page 8 on onwards with a special view on setting up PPPoE. Have your information form your DSL provider handy (Account name and password).
The default webpage for the router interface is http://192.168.1.1
Username and password are both "admin".

Do not enable any wireless security until everything is working fine.

Make sure later to change the password to something else, so no one can "take over" your router.

If this solution did not help, please don't rate it as "Thanks for trying" or so, but leave a comment instead and I will check back and we can work form there.

Good luck!

I will travel to Hong Kong and want to use my cell phone there, how to unlock the phone?

Hi,

Let me give you a little background and then some solutions. This is generic because I don't know your carrier. I'm using ATT as an example.

Phones are naturally unlocked, but a service provider might lock them

When originally manufactured, all GSM cell phones are unlocked. That is, they can be used with any SIM from any cellphone service provider - always assuming, of course, that the cellphone service provider has compatible GSM service on the same frequency bands that the phone can operate on.

Most cell phone service providers electronically 'lock' the phone so that it can only be used with their service. There are obvious reasons why they choose to do this - in particular, to force you to pay what are usually very high roaming charges when you take your phone out of their network and use it elsewhere in the world.

Fortunately, this locking is reversible. With some phones, it is possible to simply enter an unlocking password code into the phone and it is immediately then unlocked. Other phones need to be connected up to a special unlocking data terminal.

Your phone has to be unlocked by the carrier. LG, Motorola, Sony Ericsson, Nokia and most of their ilk, will not give consumers the unlock codes but don't despair.

A PUK (PIN Unlock Key) code is required to unlock SIM cards that have become locked following three successive incorrect PIN entries. If your SIM card becomes locked, you will need to get a PUK code from your carrier. For example, if you have AT&T to unlock your SIM card, you can obtain your phone's PUK code from AT&T by:

● logging in to your my wireless Account online
● using their Technical Support Chat
● calling Customer Care at 1-800-331-0500

To get your phone's PUK code online from ATT:

● Log in to your my wireless Account.
● Select My Services under My Account.
● From the My Services screen, select My Phone/Device.
● Select Unblock SIM Card.
● The Unblock SIM screen will display your PUK code.

Once you receive your PUK code, you will need to enter it into your phone to set a new PIN code.

Note: If you enter the wrong ATT PUK code 10 times in a row, your SIM card will be invalidated, and you will need to purchase a new SIM Card. The phone will display the following error: "PUK blocked call operator."

There are three other ways to unlock a phone:

● The carrier will unlock the phone for you at one of its retail outlets;
● You can do it yourself by clicking on this link Free Unlock Codes ,
● Pay $3.89 at the following website: www.theunlockshack.com/. I have absolutely no affiliation or relationship with The Unlock Shack or its principals.

I trust that this is helpful and solves your problem. All the best

Have a sierra wireless 881 and keeps coming up error 668 tried with my cell sim and got same code whats wrong and how do i fix it with out att or spending more money

First of all you might want to check the firmware on the card to make sure it is up to date. There are two different versions of the 881, a usb model and a PCMI card. To get your firmware version by using your communication manager, go to tools>diagnositics>gsm info. Look on the device tab. The firmware version is near the bottom. Then go to www.sierrawireless.com/support and check that version against what they have there. If that does not work, set up a new connection profile. Here is a link showing you how to do so. http://www.mattsilverman.com/2008/08/error-668-sierra-881-wireless-aircard-att-3g.html

Going from USB to PC card

It may not be compatible with either software version or it's possible the version of "driver installer" is only compatible with the USB, If you'd go into device manager on your PC and make sure you see drivers for the modem, network adapter, ports and usbs for the 860 you should be able to set up a dial up connection. This will help you do that. https://www.wireless.att.com/support/tutorials.do?tutorialPage=page2&universe=att&deviceId=8330&tutorialsCategory=Connection+Methods You also may want to take a look at this article https://www.wireless.att.com/support/tutorials.do?tutorialPage=page2&universe=att&deviceId=8330&tutorialsCategory=Getting+Started&tutorialId=214910

No internet access with air card

Before you go to your friend's, download the Watcher program from Sierra wireless onto a cd. And install it instead of the AT&T Connection MGR.

For random disconnects and difficulties signing on with ATT Communications Manager

download the watcher program @

copy and paste the complete link into your browser.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
