"every time I try to run any PC game I have" Running the games before, do you encounter the same problem you posted. If not there's a problem, have you read the system requirements of the game your playing before installing, unless its a mini game like book of worm etc. but most game now a days requires a decent video card considering you're using a AGP video card. try to run 3D Mark 2003, 3D Mark 2006 or FurMark (for stability) if there's no problem with the card it should stand the stress test or just a simple test. If you see garbled image during testing, your video card have problems consider replacing them.
Hopefully this information helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.
Sounds like your card has been overclocked and become unstable. There is a piece of software called Guru 3D available on the internet that will let you reduce the clock speed on your card. Try that, a little at a time, DON'T change anything else, and see if it helps.
Video Card: A video card with 64 MB memory and one of these chipsets is required: NVIDIA GeForce3 / NVIDIA GeForce4 (Ti series only) / ATI Radeon 8500. Laptop versions of these chipsets may work but are not supported
Problems with this kind of "PC Freeze" or Hang Up when oppening games or 3D accelerated applications are you dont know what part of your PC is failing... many of this problems are very hard to fix... first of all it might be a power supply problem.. take note that it gives the proper current for your pc to work, therefore a failing PSU will make your PC freeze... another one is your motherboard, if you have a faulty motherboard it might make your pc freeze... this might be a video card problem too... maybe your video card is overheating or it can also have conflict with your built in VGA try disabling your Built in VGA... try cleaning your pc with dust and try to run it again... and last is your sound card... it might have conflicts on your onboard sound chip... try disabling it at your BIOS... as ive told you its complicated because you will never be sure what part of your pc is causing the problem... and also check if your pc is overheating...
top 5 problems are 1. Power Supply is Failing 2. Video Card is overheating 3. Faulty Motherboard 4. Your PC is overheating 5. Hardware conflicts
i wish you good luck and i hope my reply helped... :)
