Most likely the micro-switch that tells the controller that the drawer is closed is broken. Its a tiny little black switch at the back of the left drawer slide, it had a metal actuator that is prone to breaking.
I endorse that. I had this problem and whilst the lever to the micro-switch appeared to be doing its job, it was not and when I forced it further back about 0.5mm the machine worked.
The lever was catching on the side of the control board cover. Trimming a small piece of plastic of with a sharp knife fixed the problem .
