Re: SunFire V240 using XVR-100 graphics card
May be the graphics card has fitted correctly on the slot inside try reinserting once.... or may be this is due magnetic field appliances like speakers are very near 2 monitor so keep some distance from monitor and then on monitor press menu button and give degauss.... if still problem problem persists then may be there is some conflict with the driver so try uninstalling it and then installing it again...
or else may be there monitor problem ... just have check with connecting another monitor

You need a new DLP chip. The chip has little mirrors that are black on one side and white on the other side. When the chip wears out , your screen will turn white one dot at a time or black one dot at a time or they may just all stick shut at once. Since your screen is black, all your mirrors are closed. You can buy the chip from shopjimmy.com and they have a video of how to replace the chip so you can do it yourself. It takes about 1 1/2 hours. The chip is about $160. To have this service done for you is about $200. Do it yourself and save the money. Your tv will be just like new again. Just make sure the chip is in perfectly level or when you turn your tv back on, your picture will be slanted. you won't notice it on the picture itself but words on the screen or scrolling messages and the menu will be slanted.

Faults to all LCD & Plasma screen are similar, irrespective of its brand and screen size.
Could be try connecting to an external monitor using the vga port. If the same problem appears on the external display the problem is most likely the video card. You may wan to update the display drivers.
Hi,Yes your problem sounds like the DMD board. This is how it works: http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/dlp1.htm Basically the light of the lamp goes through a tunnel that carries a color wheel(rotating disc with a gamma of colors that creates the colors on your tv)then the light of the lamp goes through the DMD board which is a chip composed of around 2 million pixels that creates the images and colors. When it starts to fail it will create black bars, pixelation, color distortion or white dots on screen. Here's a video that will help you find where the DMd chip is located : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0jr_9A5Xd2Q Have a blessed one!
This is a very common failure on Projection sets. Its called a convergence problem.
You may have one or more of the following symptoms.
Screen looks 3D Colors don't line up One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu. Screen is bowed or warped. No Audio / No Video - Makes Chirping Sounds You can see some examples and find a fix here...
This could be from you GPU starting to overheat. When they get too hot the start running "dots" across the screen and then you get all kinds of pretty colors in the corners of your screen. Eventually you will lose your video altogether. The way to fix that is the same way you fix the RROD by doing the x-clamp replacement. I have done several of these and it fixed the problem and I haven't had any of them come back yet.
