Question about Washing Machines
Sporatically our Maytag washer will leak water from the top back left. Water will pour from the bottom of the washer and from seam of the side and top panel. It happens maybe once a month.
I suspect the water is coming from a plastic (clear square) piece on the inlet hose(see picture). Is this a broken piece or some kind of a check valve? What can I do to fix the problem?

HI. thanks for the question. well, not good news for you. the transmission has failed. has broken a gear inside. very costly .suggest buying new. A roper washer. good price. good washer. thanks the appliance doc. please rate my answer thanks.

you would acess ut from under the main top. alittle involved but acessable,.. you need to remvoe teh four phillipsscres from with in the soap dispensor area. then remove the front door as well as th e2 screws oppisite t eh door hinge, then pop off the front cover. from there youll find 2 more 5/16 screws holding the top to the frame assy. then the main top can be flipped backward allowing you acess to the valve
