Sporatically our Maytag washer will leak water from the top back left. Water will pour from the bottom of the washer and from seam of the side and top panel. It happens maybe once a month.
I suspect the water is coming from a plastic (clear square) piece on the inlet hose(see picture). Is this a broken piece or some kind of a check valve? What can I do to fix the problem?
Thanks

First plug off the wall. Open up the top by unscrewing screws at the back of machine or wherever. Check out the tubes........

you would acess ut from under the main top. alittle involved but acessable,.. you need to remvoe teh four phillipsscres from with in the soap dispensor area. then remove the front door as well as th e2 screws oppisite t eh door hinge, then pop off the front cover. from there youll find 2 more 5/16 screws holding the top to the frame assy. then the main top can be flipped backward allowing you acess to the valve

Are washer leeks like that all the time now..
Update, I fixed the problem by replacing valve. Not sure why there is a need for the valve or why the old one was causing a problem, but have not had a problem since replacing.
