SOURCE: Rear cylinder not firing

The first thing I would do is replace the spark plugs again. You can foul a plug and it will cause you more problems than you can ever imagine. I see you have done all the logical things that I would recommend but I did not see you have replaced the plugs after the 200 miles. You would be surprised at how many times a $2.00 part can cause fits beyond belief.

SOURCE: no fire at the plugs, battery fine, was running

Your Sporty has a fuse box somewhere. check the fuses to see if any are blown. Harley always puts their ignition systems on their own circuit. If you don't find anything that way, contact me directly at [email protected] and I'll scan a trouble shooting chart in and send it to you. There's more to the late models than there was with the early models.

My 1996 road king will crank but not fire at times. getting gas and spark.

A spark plug may fire when out of the cylinder, but not fire properly when under compression. Replace the plugs and get your coils checked out for correct resistance and operation. You will find the correct readings in your manual.

Harley davidson coil ohm test info

Know this is an old thread but there is misinformation in that answer.
Harleys were dual fire up through the Evos. Once the twin cam came out in 99 they were single fire so it DOES make a difference how it's wired.

2000 harley road king will not start, new battery, drained and refill fuel tank, engine light comes on for 4 seconds and hear fuel pump run, cranks over good but no start, has not run for 2 years.

Hi, i would work from here. Check the spark plugs, the plug wires, and the coil. Those hardly go bad, so it's possible that something is not allowing the coil to fire.
