Connect from the headphone port of the iPhone and use the red & white RCA audio cables to connect into the RCA audio input terminals of your TX-8511.

This depends on how you have it hooked up. You're going to need a Tuner. A simple method is to connect only the Yellow RCA cable (or composite cables) to your T.V. Then connect Red and White RCA cables to the Tuner/Surround sound system you're using on which ever input you're comfortable with. I.E. CD/AUX/TAPE..etc. Change your tuner to that input, and you should get your surround sound through the speakers. Make sure you change the input on your T.V. to what ever video source you got the wires in. If your tuner allows you to hook up a video source to it, you can just hook it up to the tuner and run the DVD player off the tuner only. The first option helps avoid confusion if your tuner isn't set up for any other devices to play video through it.

If you have your video equiptment hooked to your reciever input, then, out to TV, This isn't the best way to go. Of course it depends on what you have for input and output on your TV but, the ideal way to hook your system would be to hook all video equiptment to TV, ie:, cable/sat box, DVD player, etc., to TV via, HDMI, Composite, RCA, etc., then run your digital optical out from TV to reciever. You would use the TV's menu to choose what you watch and would only have one input(audio) to reciever. Some recievers are set up to transfer video, but, it uses more cables, creates more connections, and more room for error.

Used a S-Video cable for video hook up and a RCA component Red,White cable for a audio output hook up.Or used a all in one RCA component cable Yellow,Red,White for a hook up as a simular hook up for traditional VCR hook up before.

Channel four on the television wouldn't be correct when hooking up with the yellow red and white RCA cable. The television should be on video/aux/input etc. You should see a button for you to do that on the tv, on the tvs remote control, or within the tvs menu.

The dish network reciever should have audio and video out on the back, If its a HD device it should also have COAX out (hd audio) get the cables for audio and feed the into a input on the back of your home theater system, there should be several inputs, usually labled like video 1 video 2, tape deck etc etc. the audio in are red and white or red and black usually, the coax connector is orange, and you only need one cable to hook that up. If you have HD audio on the dish network that will sound best in your home theatere system

Are you flipping thru the channels on the remote like you would for tv?
Usually what you have to do is look for a button that source or imput on your tv or controller for the Tv. that will cycle thru available imputs like HDMI 1, Cable, Component 1, RCA etc. until you find it. make sure the PS3 is on as well.
If this doesnt solve it you may have a faulty cable, you may want to try a new one if you have and see if that solves the problem, or use the same RCA cable to hook up a dvd player or other device, if it doesnt work on that device you know the problem.

Using RCA cables just hook up the RCA cable to where it says "input" to the one doing the recording, and hook up to RCA cable to the one plug where it says"output" on the one thats gonna do the playing. Red cable goes to red, white to white etc.

The S-video cable carries picture only. You need to also hook up RCA audio cables from the camcorder to the TV

DVI to Composite Video (yellow) adapters are available in many online stores for mail order. You will need to get a separate mini-RCA jack to stereo RCA adapter to hook the audio output from the computer to the stereo audio (red and white) connections of the cable.

Search google for DVI to composite video adapter, and the mini-RCA adapter can be found at most home entertainment or electronics stores (Best Buy, Circuit City, etc)
