SOURCE: dyson cr01 outer door not locking, after pressing

This solution worked for me, but there could well be different problems which give the same sympoms. My problem was that the microswitch had become worn with use and the interlock slide would no longer cause the switch button to depress but rather it was trying to push the button sideways.

Remove the 2 screws from the rear of the lid and daw the lid off by sliding backwards then upwards.

Remove the 2 torx screws from the top of the front panel that have now been revealed.

Carefully prise the front panel upwards only on the door lock side until the front panel comes forward giving you access to the interlock mechanism.

Remove the 2 torx screws from the front panel holding the actuator in place and remove the interlock mechanism from behind the front panel, disconnecting the two spade connectors and the door release strip.

Carefully prise the two sections of the actuator apart using a small screwdriver in the slots at either end

You will now see two microswitches connected together by a short wire link.these switches are activated by grey plastic slides, one of which slides when the door catch is engaged in the interlock, the other slides when the first one has been actuated and the solenoid actuates. In my case the first one was worn and was jamming the switch instead of pressing it in.

Remove the two microswitches by prising one off its locating pins and lifting it up then prising the other off its locating pins.

There are 2 very small locking tabs on the switch. Prise them out slightly then the switch side can be lifted off.

Slide out the switch button, rotate it through 180 degrees and place back into the switch. This means that there will be a new face in contact with the actuator slide. Hopeully this will provide another few years of good service.

Rebuild by reversing the previouse steps.

SOURCE: dyson cr01 washing machine filling up with water

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors or back feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET valve to open up and allow water to flow into. If this does not happen then the voltage at the inlet valve must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

My Dyson CR01 washing machine inner door plastic handle has broken, with the door locked. How do I open it? Thank you in advance!

You bought a washing machine from a company that makes vacuum cleaners :>D

Dyson is not the company it used to be. I am very disillusioned by them.

Drill a 1/8" hole carefully into the plastic, insert a nail or screw in a screw and use the nail/screw as a new metal handle.

Or you could phone Dyson and have an interesting conversation with their support staff (the ones that told me my Dyson DC12 was no longer supported and was scrap).

And good luck with spares (do I sound bitter :>)

Why was the Dyson washing machine discontinued?
Dyson's products didn't always prove a success, however. For instance the CR01 washing machine (a machine which mimicked the actions of hand washing with two contra-rotating drums) ended up being discontinued because its production cost the company too much.

Frustration and failure fuel Dyson's success - BBC Future

My advice, get a crowbar and lever the door open, get your clothes out and buy a Whirlpool. Love mine and 100% reliable after 12 years. Good luck with whatever you decide.
