Mitsubishi CK-3513Rs About 4 years ago I had a popping sound of arching. It eventually stopped, but the picture became more green. I had it fixed for $350. and lasted for only 4 years and started again with the same results...green, but lived with it. Yesterday, I turned it on, but now I don't have any sound? I'm still not willing to give up, but have been looking for a schematic, maybe I can fix it, but that too has become futile. Hopefully you can point me to the two issues? Much appreciated

SOURCE: convergence out of addjustment

You need to get a service tech for that problem,it might need new amps for the convergence and then adjustments that only can be done from the service menu.

replace DM

Picture of bad caps
http://www.auctioncreations.com/wd62525a.JPG

The DM board is the one with the digital connectors on the back panel. If you already have it appart, you may as well check the caps on all of the boards. The caps that go bad are typically Jamicon brand caps in 1000 uF and 330 uF values. There are also a couple of 3300 uF caps in the PS that cause problems.

Sound takes up to an hour to come on, Mitsubishi 35'' tv

A $700 dollar estimate for a sound problem seems out of line - get asecond opinion (did some one look at it or just a guess). If the sound eventually comes on you probably have a connection (internal) problem or a intermittent part in audio section -cap o/p IC.
If you use a satellite or cable box can you hook your sound from that to an audio system thereby bypassing the TV?

No pic. or sound but power light is on

Most likely the blue picture tube arched and shorted out the horzontal output transistor.Very common problem with this chassis. Now if you have an electronics background you can most likley fix it, if not you will be dealing with finding a high voltage leak consisting of 31,000 volts which can kill you. That pop you heard was the high voltage leaking to ground.

Popping; sparking of Red Projector to metal frame

Sounds like the red CRT has an internal short. Sometimes happens that the picture tubes develop an internal short and cause arcing. I world CAREFULLY disconnect all of the wires to the CRT and see if the arcing goes away. VERY IMPORTANT!!! there is a high voltage wire attached to each pictur tube, usually a red wire that goes to the side of the tube. You can get a shock even if the TV is unplugged, as the tube will hold a charge for years after the power is disconnected. If you don't feel comfortable doing this, DON"T since the shock is powerful enough to stop your heart.

Sony KP-57WV600 rear projection

sounds like bad CRT, some of these sonys have had defective CRT issues, usually all will come and go sooner or later (all 3 bad), you can pull the speaker grill off(either 2 1/4" screws on bottom or 6 1/4" on back sides) and pull off the Crt box cover (2'X3' piece) and lightly tap the CRT's with tv on, if they flare or get colored streaks in pix they are bad, CALL SONY 800 # and complain, also could adjust G2 (Screen control for color) for short patch. Will need new crts.

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
