You can search ebay, but it will be difficult finding the exact version for your camera. Instead recommend reading the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

Though there are pictures in camera, while transfering into computer, am getting message that "no pictures in camera" where is the problem....help plzzz

The photos may have been taken while there was no card in the camera and are stored on its in-built internal memory. So when you link the camera the computer while a card is in it it does not see this internal memory. Try linking without the card, it might be the solution.

Downloading not possible

Sounds like a problem with connections between camera and PC.

Try an alternate method to dl pics. (get a universal type card reader.)

Can't dowload vedio clip from CANON PowerShot A550

It's very hard to troubleshoot software problems online, and it likely is a software issue. But why put up with the headaches of bad software in the first place? Please see the following blog article, as it describes the use of a card reader as a much easier, faster, and less error prone way to download your photos, and especially the much larger video files. In fact there are several important reasons discussed in the article for using a card reader vice downloading from the camera. USB Card readers are also very inexpensive these day, with cost virtually not an issue:

New Canon A550

very simple. you need to get an SD card reader from your local electronics store ( CC or Best buy). it's very simple. the memory card goes into the card reader and that ensemble plugs into any of the usb ports in your computer. once plugged in, the computer will recognize it as external memory, just like a flash/thumb drive and your comptuer can read the pictures off of the card without any interaction with the camera itself. all you will need to do is copy the pictures and paste them into any folder you wish.

Just a video of 8.03 minutes captured in my Power Shot A550 Digital Camera shows 867 MB size

A 1.3 hour movie is recorded on a DVD, not a CD. DVDs can hold a minimum of 4.7 GB, or nearly seven times the capacity of CDs. Your 867 MB file of 8.03 minutes indicates that you were recording at about 1,800 KB/sec, or the highest quality recording level. (See specifications here.) If you're willing to record your video in a smaller size, you can get much more recording on a CD.

Delayed preview image

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP button on the back (it manually turns the LCD screen on and off to save batteries). Turn the camera on and press the DISP button once. Hopefully that should fix it.

Unable to upload photo to computer.

as far as i think VISTA is not compailant with the CANON software. since vista s a latest version CANON will have to release a new version of its software for VISTA.
so this must be requested with CANON.
