Need know how to install an echo board in a dx 959
SOURCE: refurbished dx 959 from galaxy no modulation? no transmitt?
If there is no transmit at all, it sounds like it wasn't fully refurbished. If it is just low modulation then just turn VR16 and VR14 all the way to the left.
If its not working at all, send it back. It hasn't been refurbished.
SOURCE: have new dx959 doesnt get out very far talking
The DX959 has an output power setting knob. It's located next to the channel selector and is labeled RF Power. Turned counterclockwise will reduce output power. Turned clockwise will increase output power. Your switch is probably turned all the way counterclockwise resulting in low transmit volume.
Also, make sure the wiring for the RK59 is correct for the Galaxy. Even though it's a 4 pin plug, the pinouts may be different for the Uniden and Galaxy radios. Do a Google search for mic pinouts for your two radios to check.
SOURCE: i just want to know the procedure for tuning or
this is for any radio.
follow the audio wire. to the variable resistor on that line. for your
modulation. for TX go backwards from the rf transistors to see if there
is one for rf power actually would be a voltage increase/decrease to
the bias. and collectors. thats how to trace any radio for the tune up
adjustments. the others would be for ssb or rx tx meter and squelch
etc... just follow them thru the circuit ... all this can be done by a
radio shop for less than $10 remember not to let or yourself cut out any
of the circuit that will cause overmodulation. and its just wasted.
looks good on a wattmeter but not on a oscilloscope .. and other on
adjacent channels.. lol..
SOURCE: I have a galaxy dx
did they put both the power ground and the audio ground together when they installed it? some echo's can only have the one ground , not both.. either the power wires ground or the coax ground on the audio wires.
also check the swr's..

Hello, please tell me what you were doing before and at the time of change. Were the digit lights recently switched? Please give me a little more information so I can be more specific in my answer. Thank you.
